Ada Oklahoma (The Weekly Vice) -- Daniel Lewis Whelchel, a 20-year-old Oklahoma man was arrested Monday after attempting to beat grandmother to death because he "was tired of waiting for her to die."
According to the Pontotoc County Sheriff's Office, Whelchel attempted to beat his grandmother to death before leaving her to die next to pond.
Investigators say Whelchel asked his grandmother to take him to the store Sunday and then to some property the family previously owned.
When the two arrived at the property, Whelchel allegedly told the woman he was "tired of waiting for her to die and that he was going to take matters into his own hands," according to Pontotoc County Sheriff, John Christian.
"He asked her if she wanted her neck broken or did she just want him to beat her to death," said Christian.
When the grandmother declined both choices, Whelchel allegedly attacked her - first attempting to break her neck. He then resorted to beating and kicking her in the head, said Christian.
After the attack, Whelchel reportedly fled the scene with the car, leaving his grandmother to die next to a pond. The woman spent several hours crawling to the nearest house.
Whelchel, who lives with his grandmother, was arrested at her house later the same morning.
He was booked into the Pontotoc County Jail on a charge of attempted murder. Bail has not yet been set in the case.

The story makes it pretty clear. Grandma was supporting his a$$ because he was too stoopid to get off his lazy ass and make something of himself. This ungrateful little pot smoking mall rat should have gotten a cowboy boot in the a$$ repeatedly instead of lounging around grandma's house begging for rides.

The grandmother's name was not Holly, as someone previously stated. It was Elaine. She was my 1st grade teacher, and a distant member of my family. I was actually incarcerated with this joke of a human, and he is completely delusional.

From what Ive heard the brother and the sister were raised by different guardians. Her by the Mother and Him raised by the grandmother who was just as lazy as the grandson. She would sell his adderall for profit, and take his disability checks from him. No reason to try to kill someone, but I must say I would be pretty
furious. Oh well. All I must say is the grandmother thought she could raise this boy better than the mother. She was proved VERY wrong in the end.
