Kalamazoo Township, Michigan (The Weekly Vice) -- An unnamed 16-year-old Michigan boy was charged Tuesday after beating female school bus driver because he didn't like how she did her job.
The teen, who resides in Kalamazoo, will be charged as a juvenile with intent to do great bodily harm, according to Kalamazoo Asst. Prosecutor, Karen Hayter.
The incident took place at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday as a veteran driver was substitute driving the teen's route.
Police say some of the students became agitated when the driver made a stop where there were no students. A short time later, the teen got out of his seat, removed his jacket and walked to the front of the bus to confront the driver. When the driver grabbed the radio handset to call for help, the teen began pummeling her face and head repeatedly.
At one point another student attempted to intervene, however the attacking teen cursed at him and then resumed the beating. He then reportedly exited the bus and fled the scene, but was later found at his Kalamazoo home, according to police.
Investigators attempted to question the other students on the bus about what happened, but they reportedly refused to give any information.
The driver suffered injuries in the attack, including a broken hand/finger, cuts, bruising and a broken blood vessel in her face. She was treated at a local hospital and released.
Officials with the Kalamazoo Public School district says the driver followed all rules and procedures.
The juvenile is being held in a juvenile home awaiting a pre-trial hearing next month.

Juvenile charges? Seriously? When a 16-year-old kid doesn't hesitate to beat a woman senseless over nothing - charging him as a juvenile is like trying to put out a forest fire by blowing on it.

If I would've been in that bus or just happening to walk by, I would've grabbed him by the ears & "skull" dragged him. This is completely sick. He could of killed her. Her head shot back and could have done some major damage to her neck etc. I think he needs to get in jail with the big boys for a while. They will teach him a lesson and he wont want to go back........ If they dont deter these punk kids they will just grow up thinking its ok to go around hurting people. If that was my mom I would have beat the police to his house and put him in the hospital....

I think the kids that refused to give any information are just as guilty as he is. They should all be banned from riding the bus again
It is unfortunate that this happened. But, the bus driver used poor judgement in 1 action which resulted in the teen responding far above what he may have. A substitute bus driver, who had no prior relationship with the teen, asked dispatch for the police to be called to arrest the teen who had threatened her with violence right in front of the teen who had just threatened her. If you are going to call the police on someone for just threatening you, DO NOT let them know you are going to do it, and DO NOT do it in right front of that person. A threat can quickly turn into an action when known punishment is to follow either way.

See, the other students were aware that base had been called. They tried to pull him away knowing his ass was going to get fried.
The kid ran off, knowing someone out there was probably on the way instead of staying and finishing her off.

I've worked with kids like this as an educator for years, and because of federal laws designed to protect them, they are almost never punished in the way they deserve. Did you know you are labeled an "exceptional" student you can't be suspended for more than 10 days in a school year? So if you get in one fight, and get your 10 days of suspension, you can't be suspended again no matter what else you do the rest of the year. No matter how many fights you are in, threats you make, trouble you cause - you served your maximum time.
Someone please tell me why this is right. A "regular ed" student can be suspended as many times as they deserve it. This is a complete crock of shit. I've never been assaulted, but I've had verified gang members threaten me and my co-workers with death, and NOTHING was done. It wasn't until they learned I am an Iraq vet with a concealed carry permit that they left me alone, but they continued to torment my coworkers.

I am up to speed on three similar cases right now where the teen involved was originally charged as an adult, but the case was later knocked down to juvenile court.
So no matter what the police are charging them with, the courts are doing their best to "rehabilitate" and use "probation" as disciplin in these types of cases.
Look at the case where 8 Florida teens were arrested for beating a girl unconscious last year.
Half of them were let off, the other half were sentenced to time served and probation.
I'm not sure if any of them got any real time of it.
So I don't think it's a racial issue... I think it's a stupidity issue.
He needs to be behind bars with some big-ass dudes that beat the shit out of him. Better yet, put him in with some bass-ass chicks in a cell that destroy his ass. Cheaper fix though... a rope and a big Oak tree!
