Penni Waters Jail Booking Report
Previous Jail Bookings Found Here, Here, Here and Here
Zephyrhills, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Penni Waters, a 48-year-old Florida woman was arrested Tuesday after attempting to steal a cordless drill using a trick she saw on the television show 'COPS'.
According to Zephyrhills police, Waters entered a Lowe's home improvement store, picked out a cordless drill and then placed it inside a black handbag she was carrying. When she attempted to exit the store without paying for the item, security personnel stopped her at the door.
Security detectors, which normally sound an alarm when merchandise has not been purchased, did not activate.
Investigators say Waters lined the handbag with aluminum foil, which reportedly interferes with the sensors in the theft scanner apparatus. She later told police that she learned how to do it from an episode of COPS.
Waters was booked into the Pasco County Jail on charges of retail theft and possession or use of an anti-shoplifting device. She was also jailed on a warrant on an earlier arrest for possession of methamphetamine. Bond was set at $2,150.
Unsurprisingly, Waters seems to have a long history of previous charges which includes arrests for theft, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture of a controlled substance (meth) and various probation violations.

I remember that episode! It's the one where the woman stole a bunch of DVDs and had one of those bags so when the cop pulled her over he knew she stole them because of the bag!
