Pittsfield, Massachusetts (The Weekly Vice) -- Stephanie K. Lighten, a 26-year-old Pittsfield woman was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly attempted to use a syringe to inseminate her wife with brother's sperm.
According to Pittsburg police, officer's were called to the women's apartment at about 4:30 p.m. on a complaint of a domestic assault. When they arrived, alleged victim Jennifer Lighten told investigators that she had been attacked by her wife, Stephanie.
Jennifer told authorities that Stephanie had come home "all liquored up" and tried to use a syringe to artificially inseminate her, according to the arrest report.
She told investigators that Stephanie had a "turkey baster" and her brother's semen with plans to to impregnate her with it. When Jennifer refused, Stephanie allegedly threw her onto the couch and threatened to impregnate her with it herself.
After breaking free, Jennifer reportedly went to the bathroom and locked the door, however Stephanie "broke the bathroom door down hurting [Jennifer's] wrists" according to the police report.
Jennifer then reportedly ran out of the apartment and attempted to flee in the couple's sport utility vehicle. As the vehicle pulled away, Stephanie caught up and attempted to enter the vehicle, nearly causing an accident.
After police caught up to the brawling pair, they took Stephanie Lightner into custody. Police also confiscated the syringe and a container of semen belonging to Nicholas Lighten.
Police arrested Stephanie Lightner on charges of assault and intent to rape. Those charges were dropped after Jennifer declined to press charges. She stated that she didn't believe "Stephanie was going to sexually assault her with the syringe."
Stephanie was ordered to "refrain from abuse" and attend an April 29 pretrial hearing on the case.

This case is infuriating on one point. Had this been a male busting down a door, throwing a woman around, threatening to impregnate her.....do you suppose police would go ahead with charges on their own?
If they aren't going forward with charges, why waste the court's time with a hearing?

Danny, I don't think your being fair...If this had been a straight couple, unable to concieve, and a sister stepped forward to be a surrogate mother... you wouldn't be calling her a sick, twisted freak. But because it is a brother, and a sperm donation, granted, donated in a creepy way... Ok, this whole story is bizzare, let alone the syringe thing, but i don't think the brother really needs to be the focus of any attacks.

It's her brother for God's sake. If she wants to have a child, go and get artificially inseminated the normal way. Not your own brother/brother in law
Sorry Kimberly but I have to disagree. Kids already have a hard enough time without learning as some point they're dad jacked off to playboys only to be inseminated with a turkey baster into his sister's spouse. There are other ways.
i don't necessarily see much wrong with getting donated sperm from a family member( wouldn't be my choice, but hey). to me that would make the most sense because then the baby has your blood, even if you didn't conceive it.. HOWEVER, you do not use a turkey baster, just ask octo-mom... besides, doesn't sperm die as soon as it hits the air? apparently, this chick didn't know that or was too drunk to care..
the whole bro situation doesn't bother me, only how they went about getting the juice...
maybe they want to keep the looks in the family...

Ok, maybe i wasn't all that articulate! The at-home medical insemination thing was weird, and the attack was criminal and horrible, but the using of a family memeber to concieve a child... understandable.

I know of a situation where the brother got sued for child support after the lesbians broke up. So much for being a responsible parent!

that brings up a question I'd like to ask. If lesbian couples want to be a regular married couple....then why would be advertising to the world "don't tease me unless you please me"?
Isn't that kind of a advertisement that the relationship isn't really all that serious? And why the hell would one want to bring a child into that kind of trailer trash existence?

The issue here isn't that this chick got sperm from her brother. the issue is that she tried to force her spouse to become impregnated. I mean, what the hell?? Making the baby is supposed to be the fun part!! Whether it was with my man or my girlfriend, i don't want anyone FORCING anything on me that I'm not down with. REALLY people!
This just shows you that there is equal or greater amounts of domestic violence between lesbians (and gays) as there is with straights in relationships. This is a rather ODD situation of domestic violence, but it is still such.
I am sure there will be continued violence with this couple. Alcohol or not, there are deeper problems here.
