Winter Springs, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Kimberly Boone, a 42-year-old wife and mother was arrested Sunday afternoon for the attempted murder of her husband.
It's a confusing tale of a picture perfect family - or so it seemed.
A content mom, a fun loving dad and two happy boys. Smiling, affectionate vacation photos show a close knit family - perhaps an enviable family, who seem to be living the dream...... until Sunday's nightmare began.
During the night, Seminole County Detectives were called to the Boone's home on a report that a man, Robert Boone, had been shot in the chest during a burglary - or so his wife told them. But when deputies arrived, they found no intruder. After blanketing the neighborhood, they still found no intruder. And there were other details that didn't quite add up.
"Immediately when we got there, we noticed something was not right in this case. We saw no signs of a legitimate burglary, usually we see forced entry," said Seminole County Sheriff's Lt. James Clark.
Then came the second piece of the puzzle. While searching the premises, a deputy located the gun used in the shooting hidden in the back yard.
Robert Boone miraculously survived the shooting. Doctors say the gunshot entered the man's chest and exited through his back without hitting vital organs. A true miracle.
When investigators spoke to Robert, he knew that he had been shot, but didn't know who did it. The pieces of the puzzle began to fall in place, however, when prints on the gun and gun registration records pointed to one assailant. Kimberly Boone.
Investigators now say Kimberly woke her husband up at about 5 a.m. Sunday morning, complaining that she heard noises in the garage. After going to the garage to investigate, Robert returned to bed reporting nothing out of the ordinary.
20 minutes later, Kimberly complained again that she heard noises in the garage - this time investigating for herself. Once in the garage, investigators say she called for her husband. When he entered the dark of the garage, she allegedly shot him in the chest.
Initially, Kimberly Boone denied knowing anything about the shooting - telling investigators that she believed it was a burglar. Detectives say Boone changed her story several times during questioning - even claiming at one point to have amnesia. But after hours of questioning, Kimberly Boone reportedly admitted to shooting her husband.
What's more, investigators have become interested in another mishap within the Boone's household. Detectives say Boone's primary residence burned down 3 months ago after Robert fell asleep and Kimberly left to run errands. The narrow timeline of that incident has investigators wondering if there's not just a little bit more to that story as well.
Kimberly Boone was booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility without bond on a charge of Homicide - Attempted Murder. She is schedule to make a first appearance on Monday, March 30.
Robert Boone is recovering from non-life threatening injuries. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The Boone's two boys Clayton and Dillon are currently residing with relatives.

judging by her earlier pic, I'd say Kimberly has gone to hell in a handbasket in more ways than one.
What a sad, sad thing to happen to Robert and the boys.
sounds like a crime done for life insurance payoff....
I agree with Kristin. What happened? Old age doesn't move THAT fast. She went from fairly hot to an all-out car wreck in just two years. Surely someone must have noticed something was wrong.
Another mindless betty boop who should have been shown the broom and dust pan long ago.
These two boys almost lost their whole world - likely all because of greed. And yes I'd investigate that house fire too. It's far too coincidental.
seems like she was planning this for a while and either didn't have the guts or the brains to do it...
real shame, i hope the kids are OK and hopefully the husband makes a full recovery..
Looks to me like she made herself look as undesirable as possible, so he'd leave.
I have personally known this couple since I was seven years old. Rob took great care of my brother and my brother takes great care of his sons. They have always been happily married and Kim has never looked so bad in her life. I dont know what she was thinking, this just goes to show that you can never really trust anyone. I pray for Rob and the boys and for Kim as well. Rob will be moving back to MD where he is from.

I am very surprised and confused about this case. The pieces just do not fit. I can certainly see why friends, family and neighbors are shocked.
People do not normally change so radically in one year's time...physically or mentally.
As for Rob, it's hard to judge a person from a few pictures, but he seems to have been a hard worker and a good father to his kids.
Thank goodness he survived. Those kids will need him.
My family has been close friends with Kim and Rob for many years. This is a tragedy that has left my family stunned and wondering what went so wrong. This was a loving family with 2 beautiful children. A woman who worked hard along side her husband to provide for their family. What could have possibly led her to do this. You would have to know her kind soft voice and generousity to understand how we are feeling right now. Our prayers are with Rob and the boys but we are also praying for Kim. Saying terrible things about her helps knowone right now. Rob has to take care of his children and himself and figure out a way to move on with his life. Let the courts take care of Kim, we cannot be her judge, jury and executioner.
The lady that posted above, Karen, is my mother and i do agree with her. Kim and Rob are like a second set of parents to me and they are important in my life.I used to babysit both of the boys and Kim and Rob are my older brothers God parents. As of now we really do not know what was going through Kim's mind. Kim would not seem like the type of person to commit such a crime and we are still stunned..we are left trying to figure out what is going on. She is a very soft spoken women and something has to be seriously wrong. My sister gabby mentioned that it goes to show that this could happen to anyone. Please do not judge Kim from the picture that you see of her, she does not look like this on a normal basis..the picture was taken in the morning! Let the courts take care of the legal issues; however, please do keep Rob, Kim, and the boys in your prayers

I think when people comment about her physical appearance, the purpose is not to criticize her for her looks.
When someone's appearance begins to change, it often reflects that there are problems on the inside. Such problems, for example, could include undiagnosed depression.
The court isn't going to figure out what's wrong with her... it's simply going to judge her actions and assign a punishment.
I know this case has effected a great number of people...so I'll keep an eye on the discussion here to make sure it stays respectful.

I am the daughter of Karen, and the sister of Gabby, Chantel, and Teddy. As they have mentioned before we have known the Boone's for a very long time. We grew up around them and in our eyes this is more than just an issue. Personally i dont undertstand just what could have gone wrong. Rob and Kim seemed so perfect to me. I never would have thought that something like this could ever come up. Last night i wrote Kim a letter expressing how i feel. I let her know that my family and I are not here to judge her. Even though she made a major mistake we will not turn our backs on her because at the state she is in she needs love now more than ever. I hope to see her again and i hope that she finds it in her heart to write me back. The family is in my prayers and i hope to see Rob at full recovery soon.
Hate to break this to you, but Kim sure looks like one of our "meth moms"... typical scabs from picking at self on the face and that hollow eyed look. Use of methamphetamine tends to make someone change from a beauty into a beast in a matter of months.
I'd say that the husband is damned lucky to be rid of this kind of a wife. His divorce will go through easily as will the awarding of full custody of the children. Hopefully Kim will spend the rest of her natural life in prison where she cannot harm anyone. After killing her husband she would likely take out life insurance policies on the children and eliminate them for a cash payout as well.
Also... if this were a situation where the MAN had done this to the WIFE, I doubt there would be any coddling going on in the forums.
Tisk, Tisk Danny... You know as well as I do that justice is not part of the law. Laws were broken here and the punishment must fit the crime.
Now if Kimberly gets out on good behavior and gets off the drugs she is on (or gets on whatever psychotropic medication she needs) then she'll need support to reintegrate into society. Her ex should stay far away from her, though... no different from a situation of domestic violence where the man inflicted the violence on the woman.
Once there is violence of this type there is no reconcilliation possible. Years of research in the field of social work point this out quite clearly. Have doubts, look it up - the studies are quite conclusive. The abusers can stop their behaviors for future relationships, but it doesn't work with people they have already set up the abusive relationship paradigms with.
Union, there's no coddling going on.
When family members or friends come into the forum, expressing disbelief and heartache, they'll get support here.
When they come in claiming a person didn't do anything wrong - well, that's another story.
Everyone knows a crime was committed, so there's no need to besiege that issue.
But there still is a family here who did nothing wrong, who's lives are forever changed.

I knew this woman as well. When she lived in MD she was a very, respectful, nice woman. I haven't seen her in years, but I was totally shocked at this article. I can't believe what would make someone do this. The thing that bothers me is the children. Those two boys are so young, but she also has two other children in MD whom she no longer is in contact with. So everyone is wrong with her being a mother of two. She is a mother of four, and has somewhat neglected them for the last five or more years. I just feel for the family and the reminders that will constantly be hovering over them.

It's real sad how everyone assumed its Kims doing, but food for thought.
Mr. Boone was a fireman and trained his house burns while gas inside and alone but she gets blamed but he got the money and he moved out of state with it.
He already made his life with another woman nor even three months after the shooting incident.
I believe she thought their was an intruder and shot Mr. Boone in fear and adrenaline.
I believe with out a doubt Kim is a victim you see verbal abuse is harmful and Rob was no angel. Now he has the boys the money and he got rid of his wife now his ex wife and he goes on to do his life. Poor detective work and judgmental the cops and detective were. Rob WAS never QUESTIONED but told Kim is trying to kill for money but he got all the money even the money she was charged taking from her prior employer.
Motive money Rob is guilty here but Kim does the time while he keeps the money his freedom and the kids.
Sure let's point fingers like all fools do.
Use proof and see beyond the presentation.
Kim should be freed.
God have mercy on Kim and help her.
