Jessica Zarate "I love my babies" MySpace Page
Madera, California (The Weekly Vice) -- Jessica Zarate, a 21-year-old California woman was arrested after abandoning two boys. One was found eating from a garbage can.
According to Madera Police, a three-year-old boy was found eating out of a garbage can in the city's Rotary Park. Officers were unable to identify the boy and communication was difficult because of the boy's broken English language skill.
Authorities released a photo of the boy, which the local media broadcast to the public.
On Monday at about 5 p.m. Zarate contacted authorities, claiming that the child was hers. Officers went to the woman's residence on Tuesday, but discovered that she had fled. She reportedly left her two-year-old son behind without relatives to care for him. Zarate was later discovered hiding out at a friend's residence.
Zarate was arrested and booked into jail on two counts of felony child abandonment. She was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Both children were taken into protective custody until a suitable home can be found.

The kid is eating out of a trash can? Perhaps she could have skipped a few meals and given them to him. Hopefully that won't even be a possibility for a very long time.

thats sad, why do people have kids if they cant take care of them? and when they do, why dont they just give them up for adoption?
If she really could not care for them which I find impossible to believe with all the services offered to woman with kids out here Why did not just go to social services and sign them over to the state. Sad thing is it is obvious she wants Nothing to do with these kids but the state will try and "keep the family together"
Give these kids a chance cut parental rights now and get them adopted into a real family.
She is just stupid my boyfriend the 2 year olds dad has tried helping her and she doesn't want any help because she's supposively ok and now we don't know anything about him
