Angie Fetty Had A Slumber Party - Charged With Having An Ongoing Relationship With Female Student That Included Sleepovers

Angie Fetty Facebook Profile

Oil City, Pennsylvania (The Weekly Vice) -- Angie Marie Fetty, a 34-year-old English teacher at Oil City Highs School, in Oil City, Pennsylvania has been arrested on charges of having an inappropriate relationship with a 16 year old female student.

Franklin City police arrested Fetty after a two-week long investigation that concluded Fetty had maintained an ongoing relationship with the teen that began in the fall of 2008.

According to investigators, the female student stayed overnight at the teacher's Franklin apartment, sleeping in the same bed. Fetty would then take the girl to a bus stop and drive to school so the two wouldn't be seen arriving together.

"We observed them hugging and kissing in the car prior to her getting out of the car," said Mark Baughman of the Franklin Police Dept.

Fetty allegedly admitted to kissing and hugging, but stated that relations did no proceed beyond that point.

Upon Fetty's arrest, officers conducted a search of her home, which also revealed a marijuana pipe.

Fetty has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released after posting a $10,000 bond.

Where the #@&^* are the friggen parents when this nonsense happens. What parent just signs off on her daughter spending the night regularly with her teacher? Why wouldn't that ring a bell?

magnificentjay said...

people are way too trusting of these government workers (teachers)

IMHO, the girl may come from a broken home (easy pickings for the teach)

The profile pic disturbs me

angie is a very close friend of mine and has been for many years. The only thing I am going to say is dont believe everything you hear or read. This is nonsense and all because a small town police force wants their 15 minutes of fame. I encourage you people to keep up with this story and follow Angie til the end of this nightmare and see for yourself. Angie's words were taken out of context by the media and the police...imagine that. Angie has not admitted to anything as there is nothing to admit to and the student "victim" and her parents have also stating there was nothing going on.

So Michelle you are saying that detectives just decided to make up the whole bit about her having the girl sleep in bed? And kissing and hugging in the car was all fabricated? And the teacher's admission that she let the teen spend the night - that was all made up too?

Detectives just woke up one day and decided they'd like to create themselves a teacher sex story and away they went?

Michelle, I think your nose is growing.

@ michelle

don't let your friendship blind you to the fact that your friend is a troubled woman

do you know her magnificentjay? No i didnt think so....do you know anything about whats going on...no i didnt think so....and taz...I never said the kid stay at her house...of course she did...the kid is a friend of her daughters...and she did kiss and hug...the same as she does her daughter...nothing dirty...you are part of this disgusting society that gets off on making everything gross and dirty. like i said if you are going run your mouth about stuff you know nothing about i suggest you keep up with this case so i can say i told you so at the end of it

I'm going to keep up with the case and when she's convicted we all can laugh at Michelle because she befriended apart of this "disgusting society." lol

Michelle, I know plenty about what's going on. If you haven't noticed it's all over the news.

And earth to Michelle. Most of the media simply passes on what authorities wrote in the police report - so you can quit trying to blame everyone else for what this woman is accused of doing.

As far as kissing and hugging goes, you don't have a kid spend the night and then kiss and hug them goodbye at the bus stop. Especially when it's a teacher.

It's not normal, healthy or acceptable. This is NOT her daughter. It's a student.

One last thing. She better be damn thankful she was not brought up on rape charges.

I do NOT believe she had this teen sleep in her own bed, but NO sexual activity took place. The teen can deny it. The teacher can deny it. But I don't buy it.

You are a gullible friend. What will you do if this girl ends up admitting that a sexual relationship took place? Are you going to keep right on believing the way you do?

Scotch-N-Soda said...

Michelle, I have close friends as well, and I don't go around telling them everything I'm doing in the bedroom.

If she were having sex with a student, why do you think she'd admit that to you? I really think your mind is blocking reality out because you want so badly to believe it isn't true.

are hugging, kissing, and sleeping "sex acts"??

*IF* SO, the age of sexual consent in PA is age 16,
(or if a partner is <4 years older, it *seems* to be age 13):
http://ageofconsent.com/ageofconsent.htm
http://ageofconsent.com/pennsylvania.htm
http://law.onecle.com/pennsylvania/crimes-and-offenses/00.031.001.000.html
http://law.onecle.com/pennsylvania/crimes-and-offenses/00.031.021.000.html

in spite of this, overly zealous district attorneys often
threaten defendents with vague "corruption of a minor"
charges when nothing illegal has actually been done:
http://law.onecle.com/pennsylvania/crimes-and-offenses/00.063.001.000.html

(the US Constitution's equal protection clause *should*
also invalidate any laws, if they exist, that make
behavior that is *legal* for non-teachers "criminal".)

note that hugging and kissing are *NOT* specifically
prohibited here within the PA requirements for educators:
http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/022/chapter235/chap235toc.html
(but hugging and kissing *are* prohibited for therapists.)

that said, *IF* there is *PROOF* (not *hearsay*!)
that the teacher actually had a "sexual relationship",
with a student (of *HERS* is implied, but unclear) then it
is certainly reasonable for a school to have a policy that
forbids such fraternization (aka sexual harassment),
or she could lose her PA professional educator license.

btw, some local officers *are* known for exaggeration,
better known as "perjury", regarding defendants here.
whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"?
(our "justice system" is neither just nor systematic.)

oh, and a pipe is now "drug paraphernalia"? sigh.
i hate tobacco, but even my dad owned a pipe.
of course, if a warrant was issued based upon
fraudulent grounds, the pipe is not admissible.

seems to me, if the "victim" *still* isn't complaining,
then everyone else should mind their own business and
stop giving all these gossip-mongering websites traffic.

also, please don't "feed the trolls" (obvious idiots)!

Whatever said...

I love how people come to this site and tell us to stop giving sites like these traffic. As if them coming to this site and leaving a comment wasn't traffic.

Jupiter Gurl said...

Anonymous (two posts above) must think we are all idiots here.

A tobacco pipe? Are you f'en serious? Do you expect us to believe that a single woman has tobacco pipes laying around her apartment? See, this tells me up front that you are full of crap and unworthy of listening to.

Secondly, the laws you listed have no bearing on this case. The case is about an improper relationship between educator and student. It has nothing to do with the age of consent. No teacher can have intimate relationships with students. It's against the law for good reason.

Next, if you think having someone's child sleeping over in an adult's bed with her isn't improper, then we need to worry about what YOU are up to.

If you think this kind of behaviour is okay, then what else do you consider okay?

Lastly, I'm most offended by how stupid you think we all are. Pitching 5 or 6 paragraphs of misleading, excuse making nonsense.

Take your snake oil presentation to a dumber forum.

@Jupiter Gurl

no, i just think *you* are an idiot
who is making this forum "dumber"
with trollish one-line zingers.

my concern regarding this event is
that i've seen people railroaded by
the "justice system" here before.

yes, a tobacco pipe. show me the
PA law that differentiates between
pipes used for tobacco vs. other
drugs and where she admits the pipe
is hers. should it be illegal for
*you* to possess a car because it
is "primarily" used to speed? feh!

http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/21/863.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_paraphernalia
"There is no Federal law regarding
simple possession of drug
paraphernalia"

PA law only seems to define the
possession as a misdemeanor, but
it does not appear to define the
actual crime. find it if you can.

"drug paraphernalia" laws are a
last resort attack upon freedom by
hypocritical social conservatives.
tobacco and alcohol cause *much*
*more* damage than all other drugs.

it seems that the "primary use" of
"her" pipe was sentimental value,
unless her drug tests are positive.

the "case" is "criminal". show me
a law that makes her *alleged*
actions criminal. i already linked
to the only relevant laws found.

there are no relevant PA "laws"
about "improper relationships",
but there are school *policies*.

"intimate" relationships are only
prohibited, NOT *ILLEGAL*, for
*other* professions, NOT teachers.
it is "sexual" ones for teachers,
which has yet to be proven here.

in case you can't figure this out,
that means that a professional may
lose their *license* or be *sued*
for malpractice, *not* be arrested.
NON-consensual acts *are* illegal.

everyone is someone's child, and
they are all legally old enough to consent to have sex at age16 in PA.

i am not on trial, but if you like,
we can all wonder about what other
constitutional violations *you*
advocate besides ignoring laws and
arresting people for having multi-
use devices *without* any drugs.

you should be offended that i think
you are too stupid to read the laws
that i linked to in my previous
post and must explain them to you.

now, if you actually care about my
opinion, then *yes* i do agree that
it was "improper" (NOT ILLEGAL) for
a teacher to have a student in her
bed, *if* that in fact did happen.

it would be even more improper if
a student is actually one of hers.

i never said i thought it was okay,
but you seem to be ignoring the
fact that this 16 year old girl
also has rights. she *chose* this.

it's legal and *not* your business.
learn to read laws, not be a troll.

Like many of the incredibly erudite people posting on this, I too believe EVERY SINGLE THING I read in the paper and see on tv.

Isn't that where the truth is?

How could the people that have known this woman for years possibly serve as a credible source?

There are many sides to a story, folks. May do some people a little bit of good to remember that...

Does anybody else around here
find it to be frightening that
Franklin police were spying on
a 16 year old school girl at an
Oil City bus stop for 2 weeks?

Isn't that just a little out of
their jurisdiction? What kind
of Orwellian police state are
we living in now, anyway?

I would like to remind everyone of the case that happened not too long ago involving four students and a stripper. The media posted a lot of information "proving" the kids indeed raped the stripper, embellishing stories with whatever information they could find. After the trial, it was proven the stripper was lying and the kids never did anything.
If the media were a credible source, they would be used as witnesses in trials. They are merely there to collect information from various sources (credible or not necessarily... they don't always do the research) and pass it on to the public.
I would like to see where this case leads and the final judgement.

if you are talking about the Duke case, the media went on what the DA insisted what happened. who seems to have used this event for political purposes....

I am very, very sorry to see that this has happened to Angie and her family. It upsets me that people believe everything in the news. If these people believe everything in the news than they should persue an education. The "news" is a product of media. Media is used as entertainment, therefor, only about 50% is true. The media filters every bit of information they get and only publish information that bring ratings and sales. It is a monetary investment. After all, where do you think all the proceeds come from to keep bringing you the info. The media is not a good source for credible information. The media did exactly what they intended to do. To portray a teacher as a monster. Really, think about it. If they wanted to run an artical about a teacher who has become close to her daughter's friend what kind of ratings and revenue would that bring them.
I have known Angie for quite a few years. One thing I can assure you is that she would NEVER endanger or encourage this kind of devient behavior. She loves children and that is why she wanted to be a teacher. She is not a "LOVER" of children. So to Angie and her family; be strong, this too shall pass. It is not against the law to hug and kiss a child that is not your own. Many people hug and kiss close long term friends of their children. These children pretty much become family.
