Las Vegas, Nevada (The Weekly Vice) -- While the country awaits its "stimulus package", Las Vegas Metro police have been quite busy over the last two weeks stomping out a stimulus of another kind. Las Vegas prostitution.
Clark County authorities have launched a massive crack-down on repeat prostitution offenders by devising a roster of what has been deemed " Las Vegas' 50 most prolific prostitutes."
The Vice Enforcement Top Offenders (VETO) is a list of Clark County prostitutes who reportedly have the longest history of prostitution-related crimes according to Las Vegas Police Lt. Karen Hughes.
As of Feb. 15, authorities have arrested 29 repeat offender prostitutes, 22 of which have been pictured above. Six of the reported women have been arrested twice within the past two weeks.
The crackdown comes as a measure to preserve Las Vegas' dwindling economy, according to authorities. With tourism numbers down, the department says it wants to keep visitors from being victimized by prostitution-related crime such as theft and drug use.
"By having aggressive prostitutes target our tourists, steal from them and create issues of theft and robber," said Hughes.
