Bradenton, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Mary Angela Southwick, a 49-year-old Florida woman was arrested Friday morning after she allegedly broke into a Bradenton home to use it's washer and dryer.
According to Bradenton police, officers received a complaint of a woman breaking into a home that was known to be a vacant rental property.
When officers arrived, they entered the home and found wet clothes in the washer and dryer.
After a search of the premises, police found Southwick hiding in a closet inside the house. Police contacted the owners, who wished to press charges. The owner also requested that the woman be required to reimburse the cost of the water and electricity used.
Southwick was booked into the Manatee County Jail on felony burglary charges. She is being held in lieu of a $2,500 bond.

Are you sure the name isn't supposed to be Mark Southwick? I love how the owner wants to be reimbursed for the water and the electricity. The nerve of this woman breaking into someone else's house to wash her clothes in this economy!
Well why wouldn't the owner want to be reimbursed.
If they have a house just sitting vacant on the market, that means they probably have a big mortgage payment coming due each month without income to pay it.
Why is it okay to make YOUR harship someone else's hardship?
Chaz, it's obivous you didn't catch the sarcasm in my comment.
oh, sorry Nika. Here's an egg... you can throw it as hard as you want at me...
Just be nice where you aim
if this woman was homeless, she could have panhandled her way to the five bucks needed to wash and dry at a launderette....
Damned if she didn't need to steal some makeup along with the power and water.

Maybe I am missing something here....but this woman was observed breaking into the house, managed to get a set a clothes in through a full wash cycle, put the clothes in the dryer, and get another set of clothes in the washer before the police came??
Oh, this happened in Florida - nevermind.
Maybe she washed the first load someplace else and ran out of change. That would make more sense. She had to dry her clothes or they'd get wet and moldy but she ran out of change so in desperation she breaks into this house she walks by all the time. While she's there she figures she might as well get another load out of it and starts the next load. Hilarity ensues.
could be that the set of clothing was a load carried by hand...not a basket full. detergent and fabric softener was already present or vendor packets carried by perp
she may have had the taste to separate the colors from whites during washing and drying....thus the find of both apparatus washing and drying when the cops arrived.
Humm. Shiny bobbed hair, no emotion... I'd say she's Vulcan.
Perhaps Scotty from the Star Ship Enterprise beamed down some laundry soap and Snuggle.
Wouldn't that figure? Only female on the ship and they beam her down to do the laundry.
er...this is a human female?
PLEASE tell me that this photo altered?!!!
how come they didn't charge her for stealing some guy's bad toupee?
