Rochester, Minnesota (The Weekly Vice) -- Jonathan Alfred Sharkey, a 44-year-old self professed "vampire" and former Minnesota gubernatorial candidate, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly threatening a teenage girl who broke up with him.
Sharkey, who calls himself the "Impaler", ran for Minnesota Governor as the Vampires, Witches and Pagan's party candidate in 2006. He then reportedly ran for president in 2007.
Investigators say Sharkey met the 16-year-old girl when she left a message on the candidate's MySpace page. The two reportedly began a brief online relationship.
The girl told authorities that Sharkey began to threaten her when she attempted to break off the relationship. Despite a request from the girl's father to cease communication, Sharkey allegedly continued to call the teen, according to police.
Last summer, authorities charged Sharkey with felony harassment, two counts of coercion with a threat to inflict bodily harm and coercion with a threat to expose a secret or disgrace.
Sharkey was ordered to appear in court in August, however the case was delayed when Sharkey claimed he had been hurt in a pro wrestling match (yeah, he's a wrestler too).
Instead, Sharkey reportedly told a Rochester police sergeant that he was a vampire who "needs to drink human blood for strength." He also allegedly referred to the teen as his "wife".
When Sharkey failed to appear again in September, a bench warrant was issued for Sharkey's arrest.
Sharkey has been booked into the Olmstead County Jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond.

Ok. So this guy has proposed impalement of people who commit acts of terrorism in Minnesota. He has gotten the VWP tab recognized and officially people can vote for that President or something. How very special this is. How very very cough cough special...crazy cough cough.
I live in MN and never heard of the guy! He ran for governor and president??!! Not on any ticket I ever voted on, and I've never missed a State or Federal vote yet!! I suspect he was more of a local spectacle that a candidate that anyone took seriously. Just for gits and giggles, I think I'll do some googling and find out if/how many votes he ever got. Yes, politics in MN is interesting. We're still waiting for our Senator to take his seat. That's MN nice for yah. HA

Sharkey's at it again.
Last week he lured a 16-year-old girl to run away and marry him. He also threatened to impale the girl's mother. It's all on YouTube, including the marriage proposal; just search for his name + "Paige".
The girl is now back home (though her mother wants her locked away until she's 18 to protect her) but so far, police are saying Sharkey committed no crime.
He was arrested last year for threatening (over a library computer) to impale a judge.
Oh yeah, he's also running for governor again, LOL.
