Bellefontaine, Ohio (The Weekly Vice) -- Amber Carter, a 35-year-old Bellefontaine elementary school teacher was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly cut class to provide prostitution services arranged over a school computer.
According to Logan County authorities, Carter left school early Tuesday claiming that she needed to take a partial sick day. But instead of going home, investigators say she drove to a Super 8 Motel where she had arranged to provide prostitution services through a Craigslist cash-for-sex advertisement.
Detectives with the Logan County Sheriff's Office first became aware of Carter's alleged activities after receiving an anonymous email pointing them to a Craigslist advertisement for sex services. Deputies answered the ad and arranged a meeting for Tuesday.
Carter allegedly stated in an email exchange "Let me know if you want me to just service you or if you wanted to actually have sex," according to the arrest report.
Investigators say the teacher showed up at about noon and was placed under arrest as soon as she took money from an undercover sergeant. Investigators also believe she used a school computer to place the ads, which would constitute a felony offense.
Carter was booked into the Logan County Jail on a misdemeanor charge of prostitution and a felony charge of unauthorized use of property (for using a school computer in the act). She was released from jail late Tuesday.
School officials say Carter taught in the school district for 13 years and hasn't had a single disciplinary problem during her tenure.

Since teachers are salaried and get paid regardless of whether the economy is up or down, the economy can't be used as an excuse.
If anything, the economy makes things cheaper for fixed salary workers.

anyway, betcha teach had debt up to the yoha...strangely understandable, since for teachers to pull a second legit job is sort of hard...i wonder if she is married....
craigslist, youtube, and most other popular posting sites like that are blocked on my work computer too.
Someone would probably complain that the kid's civil rights were being violated since the computers are provided with state funds
