Albert Michaud Jail Intake Booking
Dunnellon, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Albert Michaud, a 69-year-old Florida man was arrested Monday after he allegedly drank for hours, beat his wife with a wrench repeatedly and then threatened to shoot her with a shotgun.
According to Marion County deputies, Michaud's wife told investigators she was awakened at about 4 a.m. by her husband who was attempting to tie her to the bed with straps and zip ties. When she attempted to get up, Michaud allegedly struck her "four or five times" in the head with a wrench.
The woman told deputies that after she managed to wrestle the wrench away from her husband, he retrieved a shotgun, pointed it at her and threatened to shoot. Each time she attempted to get out of the bed, he reportedly pointed the gun at her and repeated the threat.
The woman was finally able to escape about five hours later when Michaud left the room to lock the front door. She grabbed the shotgun, escaped through the backdoor and called 911 from a neighbor's home.
Michaud was booked into the Marion County Jail on charges of aggravated assault causing bodily injury, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment. He is being held in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
