Blair, Nebraska (The Weekly Vice) -- Wayne A. Smith, a 27-year-old Nebraska man was arrested late December after allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl and then transporting her 400 miles away from home to live with him in a school bus.
According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the family of a 15-year-old girl reported the teen missing last July. With help from the Missouri State Patrol, the little girl was tracked to Purdy, Missouri where the two were living in a school bus. Officers questioned Smith and the girl who initially provided false names and claimed the two were married.
After further questioning, the girl finally admitted her actual identity. She also denied having sex with Smith, but later admitted that the two had sex on a regular basis. She told authorities that she ran away from home because she was worried about being placed in a juvenile facility. She also stated that she was in love with Smith.
After a lengthy investigation, Smith was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail In Blair, Nebraska on charges of first-degree sexual assault of a minor, harboring an escaped juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.

You know you've truly hit bottom when going to live in a school bus seems like a dream come true in comparison to where you live.
I did some follow up on this case and learned that there were some pretty serious problems going on at the girl's home. The state was preparing to pull her out of her fathers house and place her in state's custody until foster care could be arranged.
I can clearly see why she was willing to grab onto anything that looked halfway solid..... Even an adult living in a school bus seemed more stable than the life she was living. Pretty sad, I must say.
As for the 27-year-old guy. Well, he's just a sick, perverted scumbag. I have no pity for him.

It's funny that as much "follow up" vice supposedly seemed to do on this case he somehow looked over the fact that this is the SECOND TIME IN A TWO YEAR PERIOD that this same girl has been involved in a case similar to this one. It boggles my mind as to how the genius vice could over look the fact that the girl lied about her age and several other factors. I wish that people could look up the REAL facts before they print bullshit about a guy who may not be perfect, but he's a hell of a lot better than this website makes him out to be. It wouldn't matter if this was the height of "free love" (anything consensual, remember?) or she stripped naked in front of him and told him to screw her.
She was talked into telling the truth, she didn't volunteer it. Do you think you could get a young teenaged girl to tell you the truth if you believe you know the truth already? What if you are a cop looking for a runaway from another state and you found her? Think you could compete metally with her wanting to stay with the man she claimed to be married to and in love with?
A minor girl (under 18) is incapable of giving informed consent to have sex with a 27-year-old man. That is a legal fact, whether you agree or not. To say that she is the aggressor doesn't work either. The adult always, in every case, no exceptions, has 100% of the responsibility to say, "No," and to make sure nothing happens.
There are no "excepts" or "yeah buts" allowed when you face the judge and jury. Did you have sex with this girl? Are you 27? Is she under 18? You are guilty. Her personality has zero to do with it.
And if it did happen before as one commenter (anonymous of course--coward) claims, and if she is a sexually aggressive minor girl, then you are seeing one of the guaranteed symptoms of a molested child right there.
Someone should check her entire life history for the original molester who taught her about his (or her) warped version of a "sex relationship" too early in the first place.
I'll bet they are there, if you would only stop blaming the victim and try to help her instead of sticking up for the bastard called Wayne A. Smith, the useless punk who decided to take advantaqe of her (damaged?) personality to satisfy his own wants.
Not to draw too fine of a point, but "excepts" and "yeah buts" used to be exactly what judges were for. The whole reason for a trial (as dog and pony as they may be) is so everyone can get out their "excepts" and "yeah buts" and for a Judge and Jury to decided innocence or guilt based on the merits of the case.
I'm not a child rapist and in no way support this mans actions, and its not because I fear mob violence for my wrong thinking. I'm just saying what the stated goal of the institution had been prior to the New Era.
So tell me...if you met a girl in a bar with a drink in one hand and a lit cigarette in the other...would you think for one moment that she may be a 15 year old girl? Especially when she tells you that she is 19? How often do you see 15 year old girls drinking and smoking inside of a bar? That is how Wayne met this little fucking whore. I didn't find it necessary to seek out older men and send them to prison "just for the fun of it". And yes, she has admitted that she does this "just for the fun of it" and we have her admitting that ON FILM. Your arguments simply don't work. She is the predator. Your friend knew she was 15....Otherwise,why would he be so disingenuous in his his answers to the authorities when questioned? NO MATURE AND/OR STABLE WOMAN WANTS TO LIVE ON A SCHOOL BUS...Period. in denmark theese things happends all the time? and we dont consider it wrong, at least not very wrong.. when your 15 your aloved to have sex and with who is no one to tell you.. so this is wierd for me to see..
