David Neyhart / Matthew Klein - Two College Students Arrested On Charges Of “Seriously Disfiguring” Girl With Toxic Chemical

Athens, Georgia (The Weekly Vice) -- Two college students have been arrested on felony aggravated battery charges after "seriously disfiguring" a 20-year-old girl with chemical burns while she slept.

David Neyhart, a 19-year-old student at the University Of Georgia and Matthew Klein, a 20-year-old student at Gainesville College are accused of putting silver nitrate on a female UGA student's body - seriously disfiguring her and causing second-degree burns.

According to investigators, the incident happened on October 15 at an off-campus residence where the woman was reportedly staying as a guest.

"It appears they took silver nitrate and used it to write on her body. They wrote a term on her back and did other drawings, somehow made with marks all over her body that caused second-degree burns," said UGA police chief Jimmy Williamson.

The attackers allegedly caused the injury in a "malicious" way, resulting in scarring to her arms, chest and back," according to the arrest affidavit.

Authorities said the victim knew one of the attackers, but did not identify which one. Nor did they elaborate on what the motive was.

"There was some hesitation on her part to pursue this criminally," said Williamson. "We felt the injuries were to a point where we could proceed without her consent."

Matthiew Klein was charged with aggravated battery and reckless conduct. He turned himself into Clarke County Jail on Sunday before being released on a $5,600 bond.

David Neyhart was charged with aggravated battery, reckless conduct and possession of a dangerous drug or chemical. He turned himself in on Monday and was released the same day on a $6,600 bond.

So the girl has chemical burns all over her body, likely causing permanent scarring, according to a medical exam, yet she hesitates to cooperate with police?

I'm not sure how you sleep through chemical burns all over your back, front and arms - and then be too fainthearted to even see the bastard prosecuted for disfiguring you... but I have to ask where this girl's parents are. It's obvious that someone needs to intervene in this mess.

Nudist Resort To Florida Election Officials: We Want To Vote Nude! “It’s All About Freedom!”

Land O' Lakes, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Caliente, the largest nudist resort in the U.S. offers it's guests every imaginable 'perk'. Members can relax, dine, drink, exercise and party - all while in the buff. But recently, the resort realized there was one thing it's visitors could not do in the nude - Vote.

Caliente is hoping to change that.

Resort management has begun an active campaign, asking the Pasco County supervisor of elections office to consider installing polling booths at the resort so it's members can vote naked get their vote on while naked.

The resort boasts hundreds of live-in residents and hundreds of employees - not to mention the immense number of visitors who congregate at the niche resort because of it's ability to handle large groups of couples, singles, swingers, clubbers and vacationers who take the clothing optional lifestyle seriously.

The Elections supervisor, Brian Corley, hasn't rejected the idea. He did state however that a decision on the matter wouldn't be reached until 2010 at the very earliest. Corley also warned that the establishment of a new polling precinct is usually approved based "on need and population." A polling precinct already exists approximately two miles away from the resort.

Corley then gave the resort a sparkle of hope by acknowledging that "there is no magic number of people" required to merit a new polling precinct. He added that the county commission is given the task of approving the addition and/or relocation of new polling precincts.

Feedback from the commission thus far hasn't been overwhelmingly positive. One commissioner has already suggested that nudists who wish to vote in the buff can always submit their vote by absentee ballot.

Resort spokeswoman, Angye Fox, argued the matter further by insisting "It's all about freedom. People take their civic duty seriously and in many cases [nudism/naturism] is a very serious part of their lifestyle."

The Weekly Vice Opinion:

Although the prospect sounds 'titillating', the whole idea is really quite asinine. Keep in mind, polling precincts are volunteer services in large part - manned by 80 year old great grandmothers who would likely likely swallow their dentures when figuring out where to stick that "I voted" sticker on those who complete their vote. Having the resort operate the whole process is absolutely out of the question.

Then there is the whole issue of catering to a nude resort, when the elections process is already in dire need of updating it's equipment.

Then there's the whole issue of disenfranchised military votes. It's hard to imagine Florida spending money catering to nudist, when the military absentee ballot voting process is still half-hazard at best.

In the meanwhile, the concept is great for having a little fun with. If seniors in Florida can't figure out which hole to punch, it's possible other seniors will have trouble figuring out which lever to pull.

But folks, this is Florida we're talking about - and that makes just about anything possible. You can be assured of one thing. This issue will pop up again in about two years.

Doctor Invited To Help Australian Community Told To Get Out Because Son Has Down Syndrome

Victoria, Australia - A migrant doctor and his family are being forced to leave Australia, and the Victorian town that desperately needs him, because his son has Down syndrome.

Dr Bernhard Moeller answered a call from the Federal Government and the Horsham community two years ago, and moved from Germany to become the town's only permanent specialist physician.

But the Department of Immigration and Citizenship this week rejected an application from Dr Moeller and his family for permanent residency because his 13-year-old son, Lukas, has Down syndrome and does not fit the bureaucracy's health criteria.

On advice from a government doctor, the department wrote to Dr Moeller saying his son had been assessed as a burden on Australian taxpayers and could not be granted permanent residency.

Prepare to see more stories like this hitting the press over the coming months as government run, universal health care coverage looms as a very real possibility now in the U.S.

If you like the idea, great - but know there are significant downsides to it. If you do not like the concept of universal health care, be forewarned, it's eventually going to happen in some form or other. With a super-majority of Dems in congress, and an electorate that increasingly wants a universal-run program, there will be nothing really to stop it.

Jason Marksteiner - Murdered And Raped His Sister-In-Law As His Wife And Kids Slept In The Same Room

LeRoy, Illinois (The Weekly Vice) -- Jason Marksteiner, a 21-year-old LeRoy man has been arrested and charged with killing and sexually assaulting his pregnant sister-in-law as his wife and kids slept in the same room. Told investigators that he was frustrated with his sex life.

Mclean County authorities say Marksteiner bludgeoned his sister-in-law Jodi McGrew's head with a rock and then sexually assaulted the 19-year-old woman while strangling her.

Investigators say Marksteiner confessed to the murder, telling detectives that he, his wife and McGrew had been drinking the night before at his parents house. Marksteiner told authorities that after the two women went to sleep, he went outside to have a cigarette, according to prosecutors.

That's not the only thing Markstener went out to get, say investigators.

"The statements he gave to detectives were that he grabbed a rock outside and went back into the residence, hit the victim in the head with a rock and sexually assaulted her," said Asst. State's Attorney Kim Cambell.

Marksteiner allegedly confessed to hitting McGrew in the head with the rock at least 15 times and strangled her during the sexual assault to keep her quiet, according to police.

McGrew's autopsy revealed that she died from blunt force trauma to the head, with strangulation as a contributing factor. It was also revealed that McGrew was in her second trimester of pregnancy at the time of the attack (about 5 months along).

So what reason does this worm have for murdering an expectant mother?

"He indicated he was frustrated with sexual relations with his wife and wanted sex," said Asst. State's Attorney Campbell who went on to say Merksteiner could not explain why he wanted to harm McGrew, but admitted to having thoughts about hurting her.

McGrew's sister reportedly woke up about 6:15 a.m. Tuesday morning to find her dead sister naked on the floor and immediately called 911. When police arrived, they found Marksteiner also naked on the floor alongside McGrew with blood stained hands.

Jason Marksteiner was reportedly in police custody by 7 a.m. after being forced to taser the man in order to get him subdued. He was first treated for an injury at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington and then booked into the McLeon County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.

Marksteiner now faces three counts of murder and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault.

The Weekly Vice Opinion:

It's hard to say how significant this is, but this worm - which seemed to get glowing remarks from some neighbors - wasn't able to bring himself to admit he was married on his MySpace profile - advertising himself as single.

I included McGrew's MySpace profile here because I think it's important that readers get a better sense of the real person that has been lost by this grieving family. A young mom who had plans in place for taking care of her expected child. And yet, this troll couldn't bring himself to offer even a half-assed explanation for why he did it.

Russell Gets Into A Tussell, Beats New Girlfriend And Threatens Two People With A Large Butcher Knife

West Palm Beach, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Russell Adam Lechler, a 44-year-old Palm Beach, Florida man has been arrested on multiple charges Thursday after allegedly beating his girlfriend, threatening her with a butcher knife and then robbing a man using the same butcher knife.

According to Palm Beach authorities, Lechler came home in the early morning hours on October 3, armed with a large butcher knife.

Investigators say he entered the residence and attacked his girlfriend, Jodie Chandler, a woman he had began dating about a week earlier.

Lechler allegedly punched the 37-year-old woman in the face several times and then pointed the knife into her chest, threatening to kill her if she contacted police.

Another man inside the dwelling, Armando A. Ruiz, heard the commotion and confronted Lechler, according to the arrest affidavit. Lechler pushed Ruiz to the ground, poked him in the chest and demanded money, according to the report. Ruiz told police Lechler threatened to kill him if called police as well.

Ruiz reportedly complied and gave Lechler $30.

Authorities investigated the allegations and obtained a warrant for Lechler's arrest on Monday, however it was Wednesday before Lechler was arrested.

He has now been chrged with aggravated batter with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, robbery with a firearm/deadly weapon.

He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on $45,000 bail. $15,000 for each offense.

Story Debunked - Scott Peterson Is NOT Writing Letters To Casey Anthony. Media Continues To Run Wild With Story, Despite Proof Of The Contrary

Orange County, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Well here we go again. Another instance of the media running wild with a story before it's confirmed or properly sourced.

In the last few days, the media in Florida - and then the national media - have all broadcast articles and newscasts that report Scott Peterson is writing letters to Casey Anthony.

But now, the news source that has been most sourced in the story (OrlandoSentinel.com) has changed it's story. The URL that was used to post the story is now dead and a new story was posted with the following title.

"Convicted killer Scott Peterson NOT writing Casey Anthony in jail"

It turns out that after the story surfaced, officials began checking it out and came to quite the opposite conclusion.

Authorities say Anthony has never received a letter from Scott Peterson and there is no record indicating that she has written to him.

A spokesperson for Casey Anthony's lawyer, Jose Baez, said that Anthony has received a letter from a California resident with the last name of Peterson, but she has received no letter from Peterson at the Orange County jail.

Scott Peterson is a death row inmate at the San Quentin prison following his conviction for the murder of wife Laci Peterson and their unborn child three years ago. Casey Anthony is currently in jail on accusations that she murdered her daughter Caylee Anthony. She has also been charged with aggravated manslaughter, aggravated child abuse and lying to investigators.

So how did the rumor get started? Apparently someone at the jail Casey has been incarcerated at (who remains unnamed) mentioned that Anthony received a letter from Peterson, however those sources are now reported to have never actually seen the letter.

Officials at San Quentin prison have stated from the beginning that the prison does not track Peterson's mail and that even if it did, it is not considered a public record. Letters are however monitored for contra ban, of course.

So at this point, the entire story was put together without a legitimate source, without a single pair of eyeballs on a single letter and no official that has confirmed anything but the exact opposite being the case. We do commend OrlandoSentinel for manning up and pulling it's story, while other media sources have yet to give up the ghost.

Several national media outlets however, continued to run with the story today like a "D" cup diva in a wet t-shirt - citing the same unnamed, unconfirmed sources even after officials have largely debunked those details.

What is factual news however is the litany of photo evidence that has now been released by prosecutors who are pursuing murder charges against Casey Anthony.

The photos show the ongoing parties of a carefree Casey Anthony in the days after her little girl Caylee Anthony went "missing". Dancing in bars, partying with friends and flirting with men were all a part of the "grieving process" Casey appears to have endured just days after her daughter disappeared. Carlie Rose Attebury - California Teacher Arrested On Suspicion of Committing Lewd Acts With A Male Student

Orange, California (The Weekly Vice) -- Carlie Rose Attebury, a 29-year-old music/band teacher at El Modena High School in Orange, California has been charged with repeatedly having sex with her student.

Attebury was arrested at the Orange police station after detectives questioned her about allegations of sexual misconduct involving a male student that was alleged on Oct. 10, according to Orange police spokesperson Sgt. Dan Adams.

"We do expect charges to be filed soon," said Adams.

Prosecutors are reviewing the case according to Orange County district attorney's office spokesperson Farrah Emami and the cased is still being investigated according to police.

A spokesperson with the Orange Unified School System stated that Attebury has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

She was booked into the Orange County Jail, but was released after posting $50,000 bail.

UPDATE:

Prosecutors have now announced charges in Attebury's case, charging her on Friday with eight felony counts, including unlawful sexual intercourse and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime. The teacher has now been placed on unpaid leave by the school pending the outcome of the case.

Deputy District Attorney Susan Kang Schroader says a student, who was 15 when the alleged sexual contact began, admitted to investigators that he had sex with the teacher in February and April 2008.

Jayne Carr - Woman To Deputy: “I Know I’m Drunk, Go Ahead And Take Me To Jail!”

Weeki Wachee, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Deputies and highway patrol troopers have seen it all during DUI stops. Lying suspects, fighting suspects, crying suspects and just plain weird suspects. But even police officers need a break sometimes and they sure got one over the weekend.

Jayne Carr, a 42 year old Florida woman, was weaving heavily into other traffic in her yellow Ford Focus when deputies pulled her over on suspicion of driving while intoxicated around 8:00 p.m. Saturday.

Deputies who stopped the car noted a strong smell of alcohol from her, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. It was time for a field sobriety test.

She exited the vehicle, parked at the intersection of Commercial Way and Glen Lakes Blvd, and agreed to stand on one leg after refusing to take a breath test. Perhaps she knew she'd flatly fail the breath test, but thought she might at least take a shot at the balance test. According to deputies, she was unable to perform the test.

The deputy offered to try one more field sobriety test, the dreaded finger to nose test. Head tilted back, eyes closed and..... Well that's when the woman decided she had quite reached her limit with taking tests. That's when the deputies break came.

"I know I'm drunk, so go ahead and take me to jail," said Carr, prompting the officer to just 'get on with it'.

Hernando County deputies arrested the woman for driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia. The second charge came upon the discover of a wire mesh screen allegedly used for smoking narcotics, which was found in the woman's purse.

Jaime Katheryn Steen - Texas Teacher Accused Of Sending Naked Halloween Images To Teen Boys

Fort Stockton, Texas (The Weekly Vice) - Jaime Katheryn Steen, a 26-year-old old agriculture teacher at Fort Stockton High School in Fort Stockton, Texas has been charged on allegations of selling, distributing or displaying harmful material to a minor.

Steen reportedly turned herself into authorities last Wednesday after authorities say she sent sexually suggestive images and messages to 14 and 15 year old students. Police also say she purchased alcohol for minors and then took them on an unauthorized school field trip.

Investigators say Steen sent the students several images, including one that depicted a nude woman having sex with a skeleton, an image of a man's genitals as part of a tattoo and an image of two large nude women showing their backsides. The images reportedly were sent as a joke and contained a "Happy Halloween" wording on them.

"We found out that she had been sending obscene text messages" to students, said Lt. Louis Hernandez of the Fort Stockton Police Department. "She was not using her best judgement."

In a separate incident, Steen also allegedly purchased alcohol for several male students some time in September. Steen allegedly bought a six pack of beer and then drove 5 students (aged 15-17) out into the country where they consumed the drinks.

Allegations in that incident surfaced earlier this month when the principal of the school began to hear rumors that the teacher purchased alcohol for students. When he called the students in and questioned them, they allegedly confirmed the rumors.

Police also say Steen admitted to sending the text messages.

Steen was booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Wednesday, but was released on a $4,000 bond two days later

I think this case thus far is headed backasswards. It seems to me charges on giving alcohol to the teens should have been filed and the issue with sending the images could have been handled as a school disciplinary matter, not a criminal matter. Obviously this girl is too immature to be a teacher. Sorry, she is... But a criminal? I'm not so sure that jives with us.

Jennifer Hudspeth - Elementary School Teacher, Accused Of Sending Smoking Hot Text Messages To 15 And 16 Year Old Boys

Corrigan, Texas (The Weekly Vice) -- Jennifer Hudspeth, a 4th-grade teacher at Corrigan-Camden Elementary School in Corrigan, Texas has been arrested and charged with solicitation of a minor after she allegedly sent saucy emails to mutiple students.

According to Polk County, Texas authorities, Hudspeth allegedly began sending sexually explicit text messages to several 15 and 16 year old male students. The Polk County Sheriff's department began investigating the case after a father of one of the students reported that the boys were receiving the messages.

At the onset of the investigation, school superintendent Tom Bowman said that the teacher would be placed on paid leave by the school while the investigation was pending. He also said that "the arrangment would be changed," should authorities decide to file charges - which they now have.

The arrest comes after a long list of other accusations levied at school district employees over the last few months which include a coach who came to a school sporting event while intoxicated, a Junior High School principal who was accused of viewing child porn on school computers and a school board member who allegedly sent inappropriate emails to teachers.

Arielle Beck - New Trial Scheduled For Ex-Teacher Who’s 14-Year-Old Victim Hung Herself After Testifying At Trial

Moab, Utah (The Weekly Vice) -- Arielle Beck, a 28-year-old former teacher's assistant and softball coach at a Utah school will face a new trial in a case involving the forcible sex abuse of a 14 year old girl who committed suicide after testifying in Beck's first trial.

Beck was previously convicted in 2003 of sexually assaulting and stalking a 14 year old student who attended the school she was employed by, however the case was overturned by the Utah court of appeals. The trial judge threw out the conviction upon the belief that the jury may have been influenced by the number of questions posed to Beck at the trial as well as the manner the questions were asked.

Yes, you read that right. The judge believed the conviction should be thrown out because he considered the number of questions asked during cross examination to be "prolonged and adversarial."

Prosecutors appealed that decision, however the judge's verdict to throw out the conviction was upheld by the state supreme court, who gave prosecutors the option of retrying the case.

Prosecutors have decided to pursue that second trial opportunity, despite not having the victim available for new testimony.

Kelly Sowell, the victim in the case, attempted suicide twice before giving her testimony in the first trial and finally succeeded afterwords by hanging herself to death in her bedroom closet after Beck's conviction.

Now Beck will face a new trial in the case, which has been scheduled for April 20, 2009.

Background:

Beck and the victim met in the summer of 2002 when Beck coached softball at the school the victim attended. Beck then became a teacher's assistant for the victim's English class, where she allegedly started grooming the girl for a sexual affair. This activity allegedly included sending her love letters and explicit emails.

Beck now faces charges that include one felony count of sodomy and three felony counts of forcible sexual abuse. She also faces misdemeanor charges of child abuse, supplying alcohol to a minor and allowing an unlicensed minor to drive a motor vehicle.

The Weekly Vice Opinion:

For those who continually disregard the seriousness of teacher / student sex cases, this case is a reminder of why this kind of activity is outlawed. Even when a student appears fine on the outside, there are significant statistics that show a large number of the students involved are not fine on the inside.

We hear from the students themselves from time to time - and the emails are consistent for the most part. The victims who email us do not regularly express feelings of hate or revenge. Most of the time they hate the fact that they had to go to authorities. They are embarrassed, hurt, and often wish they could just wake up the next day and learn that the whole thing was just a bad nightmare.

Timothy Allen Brown - Kentucky Man Wanted After Police Discover The His Sister’s Mummified Remains In His Trunk. Cashed Dead Sister's SSI Checks

Georgtown, Kentucky (The Weekly Vice) -- Timothy Allen Brown, a 30-year-old Georgetown, Kentucky man is wanted by police after investigators discovered the mummified remains of his disabled sister in the trunk of his car. BONUS OUTRAGE: Authorities learn Brown was allegedly cashing his dead sister's SSI checks for what could be years.

The severely decomposed body of Penny Brown, a 31-year-old disabled Kentucky woman, was discovered in trunk of Timothy Brown's trunk on Friday, according to police.

After a five week investigation, police uncovered the woman's mummified remains after Brown's vehicle was discovered in St. Louis last week and then towed more than 300 miles back to Kentucky where authorities searched it.

Inside the vehicle's trunk, Penny Brown's body was found "wrapped in quilts and then the quilts were wrapped in construction-grade plastic to make it more of an air-tight package, and then placed in the back of his car, in the trunk," said county coroner John Goble.

Investigators say Timothy Brown checked his cerebral palsy stricken sister out of a nursing home in 2006. She hasn't been seen or heard from since, according to police.

Police still don't know how the woman died, however the body was so decomposed, medical examiners estimate the woman to have been deceased for about two years - which would place her death at a short time after she was checked out of the nursing home.

Investigators also say Timothy Brown was cashing his dead sister's checks, which amounted to $600 to $700 per month. Investigators say the checks have now been stopped.

Authorities last saw Brown on a visit to his home on September 20. Brown's 8-year-old son, who was removed from Brown's care during a child neglect case, told authorities that he was never allowed in 'Aunt Penny's room', according to police chief Greg Reeves.

After that visit, Brown disappeared, and remains at large.

Brown is now wanted by the FBI and U.S. Marshals Service for the knowing abuse or neglect of an adult and interstate flight to avoid prosecution.

This may turn out to be an interesting case. It appears child welfare workers removed Brown's son from his care after discovering human feces all over the floor and other deplorable conditions, yet this man was allowed to check his wheelchair bound sister out of foster care and continue being her sole care provider? How does THAT happen without any monitoring?

It's a wonder why this worm isn't all over the news right now - but that's likely due in part to election coverage, which drowns most everything else out.

Sara McConoughey - Woman Charged With Abandoning Two Toddlers To Break Into Neighbors House

Tampa, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Sara R. McConoughey, a 23-year-old Tampa, Florida woman has been arrested on child neglect and battery charges after she allegedly abandoned two toddlers, broke into a neighbor's house and assaulted the person inside.

The Hillsborough County sheriff's department arrested McConoughey on Sunday after deputies say she abandoned two toddlers, aged 2 and 3-years-old to break into a neighbors apartment.

Once she was inside, authorities say McConoughey shoved and punched the neighbor during an altercation, according to the arrest affidavit. No explanation was given for why McConoughey attacked her neighbor.

McConoughey was arrested at her home on Beechwood Bld and charged with two counts of child neglect and one count of burglary of a dwelling with assault or battery.

She was booked into the Orient Rd. Jail on a $5,000 bond, however she had not yet posted bond as of Monday afternoon, according to jail intake records.

David Mlynick - Man Charged With Shoplifting Can Of Deodorant. Then Used BB Gun In Attempt To Flee

Dania Beach, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- David J. Mlynick, a 23-year-old south Florida man was arrested on allegations that he used a BB gun to rob a Dania Beach Publix supermarket. What was the BB gun bandit after that he needed so desperately? Authorities say it was a can of deoderant spray.

Robbery might not be a white collar crime for most, but apparently it was for one man who allegedly stole a can of deodorant and then used a BB gun the make a 'clean' getaway.

Witnesses at the scene told Broward County authorities that they saw two men steal deodorant spray from the store shelf and then exited the building without paying for the items.

A store manager found the suspect inside another store next door and asked Mlynick to return the deodorant. That's when witnesses say Mlynick pulled out what appeared to be a black handgun and attempted to escape.

Expecting the worst, Broward County deputies put an area school on lock-down and cordoned off an apartment complex while searching for the fleeing man. Police dogs and a helicopter was used to find the man, who was promptly arrested. Police also confiscated the BB gun and the deodorant which were still in the man's possession at the time of his arrest.

Mlynick was booked into the Broward County jail on a $50,000 bond.

Cynthia Horvath - Teacher And Cheerleading Coach Arrested On Allegations Of Having Sexual Affair With Student

Daytona, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Cynthia Horvath, a 45-year-old former English teacher and cheerleading coach at Warner Christian School in Daytona, Florida has been arrested and charged with illegal sexual activity with a minor.

According to police, Harvath allegedly engaged in a fourth-month long sexual relationship with a 17 year old male student who attends the same school. Officials at the school stated that rumors of a relationship at been circling around the school for quite some time, which were allegedly confirmed by the student's father. The teacher resigned her position at the school a day before school officials contacted police, according to the arrest affidavit.

Investigators say the teacher and student allegedly engaged in sexual activity at multiple locations in two counties between June and September, 2008.

"We have other incidents that are still under investigation," said Sgt. Jimmie Flynt of the Daytona Police dept.

Horvath, who is reportedly married with four children was employed by the school for three years according to the school's website.

Horvath was arrested Wednesday and then charged with engaging in sexual activity with a minor in two counties. Horvath was arrested by Port Orange police Wednesday morning and then booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail, where she was charged again by Daytona Beach police with the same charge. She is being held pending a $20,000 bond.

Jason Taylor - Florida Man Arrested On Charges Of Beating A Woman And Then Raping Her As She Lay Unconscious

New Port Richey, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Some folks require just a little straightening out by a friendly judge after committing a crime. Others, however, require something more. Something that's just not achievable with jail time alone. Perhaps you could recommend what kind of attention this poor sloth requires after reading the story.

Jason Taylor, a 29-year-old New Port Richey man was arrested Tuesday on charges that he sexually assaulted a woman while she was unconscious, beat and choked the woman, knocked the woman's 6-year-old child to the ground and then kicked over a stroller that contained three toddler girls.

New Port Richey police say Taylor beat a woman, striking her several times before grabbing her neck in an attempt to choke her.

Taylor then allegedly knocked the woman's 6-year-old son to the ground when the child tried to intervene in the altercation. After breaking free, the woman loaded toddler aged girls into a stroller in attempt to flee the home. Taylor then allegedly kicked the stroller over, knocking the toddlers to the ground as well, according to the arrest affidavit.

Desperate, the woman attempted to call 911 on her cell phone, however Taylor grabbed the phone and destroyed it.

Investigators say Taylor then allegedly drugged the woman and then raped her while she lay unconscious, according to Lt. Jeffery Harrington of the New Port Richey Police Department.

The woman told police that she woke up Tuesday morning naked from the waist down and that Taylor was naked next to her. Sex toys, pornographic movies, and other items littered the floor nearby.

Police located and arrested Taylor around 7:00 that evening.

"He basically corroborated everything the victim said," said Harrington, who described the incident as "horrendous".

Taylor was arrested and charged with sexual battery, battery by strangulation, tampering with a witness and four counts of child abuse. He was booked into the Land O' Lakes Jail and is currently being held without bond.

I'll let the you fine folks define what this SOB really needs. I'm too livid to be trusted with a punishment - however I can say jail alone certainly will not suffice. Taylor needs a severe attitude adjustment. The kind that requires digging parts of his behind out of the tread of your boots when you're done.

Dawn Van Cise - Florida Mom Charged With Neglect After Police Say She Allowed Her Teen Sons To Grow And Use Marijuana Inside Home

West Melbourne, Florida (The Weekly Vice) - Dawn Van Cise, a 48-year-old Florida mother was arrested Thursday on child neglect charges after she was allegedly caught allowing her two teenage sons to grow and use marijuana inside the home.

Brevard County authorities executed a warrant to search the Van Cise's home after receiving several community complains about the house, according to sheriff's office spokesperson Lt. Andrew Walters of the special investigations unit.

Investigators who raided the home say both boys were in possession of marijuana and various drug paraphernalia. More alarming however was that the older 17-year-old son was growing marijuana in his closet.

As if that wasn't amazing enough, police also stated that both boys were already on probation, from previous marijuana charges.

"She knew without a doubt that [the boys] were growing marijuana," said Walters in response to a question regarding whether the mother knew about the marijuana plants found in her son's closet.

Van Cise was arrested on two counts of child neglect and was booked into the Brevard County Jail. No bond information was available at the time of this report.

Uruguay Ranchers Get To Play 52 Cow Pickup After A Single Bolt Of Lightning Nails 52 Cows At Once

Montevideo, Uruguay (The Weekly Vice) -- When was the last time you saw 52 cows laying dead along a wire fence, instantly killed by a single bolt of lighting? You can check your calendar and get back to me on that, but for now, is this kind of ominous looking or what?

52 cows were discovered last Wednesday after a storm in Uruguay (just east of Argentina in South America).

El Pais, a local newspaper there, reported that the assortment of brown and black cows were close to the fence during a storm Tuesday night when a single bolt of lighting turned Bessy and Mugsy into Fillet Mignon.

Veterinarians who inspected the cow carcasses confirmed that a lightning strike was the cause of death and that it's common for cows to herd together next to an object like a fence during a storm.

We are currently investigating a story that PETA protesters are now planning a demonstration against mother nature, but that's still unconfirmed. =)

Those of you who are completely confused as to what a story like this is doing here.... Well, as you may have noticed, we are going to throw a little more variety your way. In additional to the idiotic slime-balls who normally fill our pages, we'll be exposing you to even more insanity and calamity. Aren't you excited?

Robert Mora - Grandfather Locks Baby Inside Hot Car While Inside A Sacramento Bar

Sacramento, California (The Weekly Vice) -- Robert Mora, grandfather to an 11 month old girl has been arrested after allegedly leaving the child in a locked, hot car while allegedly drinking inside a Sacramento area bar. BONUS: Mora was recently arrested for DUI.

According to investigators, Robert Mora drove to a Sacramento bar with his granddaughter on Wednesday, locked the child inside the car and then abandoned her in the parking lot as he proceeded to drink inside the bar.

Police say the child was left inside the vehicle for at least 30 minutes while Mora was inside Brownie's Lounge at 5858 S. Land Park Drive, according to police spokesperson Konrad Von Schoech. The temperature outside at the time was 82 degrees, according to police.

The child was discovered by a patron of the bar, Richard Wilson, who noticed that the child was locked inside with the windows rolled up. Although the door was locked, patrons were able to reach through a narrow crack of one of the windows to open the car door.

The child's mother and grandmother reported that they had no idea the child was in danger. The child's grandmother told police she and her daughter were at work at the time and wouldn't have thought he would go to a bar since he was recently arrested for DUI.

Mora is now in jail on a charge of child endangerment. The child was released back into the custody of her mother.

The Weekly Vice Opinion:

This makes about the 10th case we've written about this year involving a child being left in a hot car unattended. Amazingly though, at least half of those children were abandoned in lieu of a bar.

Why such a big deal? Besides the obvious risk of kidnapping and drunk driving, the temperature inside a vehicle on an average summer day rises fast and significantly - even on cool days!

A study performed by the Stanford University School of Medicine showed that on a 72 degree day, the temperature inside an enclosed vehicle heats up by an average of 40 degrees per hour, with 80 percent of that heat increase occurring within the first 30 minutes. The study also showed that a cracked window had little impact on the vehicle's temperature.

There are other studies which put the temperature differential at +20 over the outside temperature so either way, the temperature inside Mora's car was likely at or above 100 degrees during the time he was enjoying a 'cold one'.

Ermith Emonfils - Woman Accused Of Shoplifting Attacks Arresting Officer With Bloody Tampon

Fort Pierce, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Ermith Emonfils, a 27-year-old Fort Pierce, Florida woman was arrested on accusations of shoplifting several items from an area Walgreens, allegedly tried to seduce the officer who was arresting her before attempting to attack him with bloody tampon or sanitary napkin.

Investigators say Emonfils walked out of an area Walgreens Tuesday without paying for several items, including a $29.99 box of Elizabeth Arden Mediterranean Cologne, a bottle of Sinful Colors nail polish and a pack of extra-long fake eyelashes.

When officers first approached Emonfils, she allegedly pulled what appeared to be a dollar bill from her overalls and offered it to the officer. When the officer refused to take the money, Emonfils "began speaking strangely and trying to get close" to the officer, according to the arrest report.

Emonfils allegedly said "Sex? Sex?" to one of the officers while pulling down the front of her overalls and shirt, according to the arrest report.

After the woman was handcuffed and officers were placing her in the back seat of the patrol car, the woman managed to remove a bloody tampon and proceeded to point it at the officers, investigators say. Officers ordered the woman to drop the object, but she refused, according to the arrest affidavit.

"I delivered a firm, lawful command to the suspect to drop the object and told her it was gross," said the officer in the arrest report.

Authorities say the woman then attempted to touch the officer with the used tampon as he struggled to keep her in the back of the patrol car.

Emonfils was charged with retail theft, shoplifting and resisting arrest. All misdemeanor charges.

The Weekly Vice Opinion:

Actually, a bloody tampon would present quite an effective threat to an arresting officer considering the ways AIDS can be transmitted. Getting this woman under control without getting smeared with such nastiness, must have been a challenge.

But dig this woman's hair. Medusa (the mythological woman with serpents for hair) has nothing on this woman. Bedhead doesn't quite measure up as an apt description either.

The cruelest part of this whole case may well be this. Now, anyone who Googles Elizabeth Arden's cologne will likely bring up this woman's sales shriveling mugshot. Life sure isn't fair sometimes, is it?

Jamie Day / Janet Brannon - Two Females Arrested For Bartending In The Nude

Alton, Illinois (The Weekly Vice) -- Jamie E. Day, a 24-year-old bartender from Jerseyville, Illinois has been arrested on a charge of lewd entertainment for allegedly bartending in the nude.

Day, who bartends at the Pub Room on 230 E. Broadway, was allegedly working in the buff last Friday, prompting a complaint to police. Authorities say the woman was 'performing' for male customers at the bar, but had managed to get a shirt on before officers arrived. She was taken into custody at around 2:40 p.m.

Another incident of nudity at the bar allegedly occurred in Dec. 2005 involving two partially nude employees and a female customer who was also partially nude. All three were charged with public indecency, however the cases were later closed.

Paperwork is now en route to the town Mayor's office who will will decide what to do with the bar itself in the incident. Don Sandidge, the town's Mayor and liquor license commissioner may determine to levy a fine on the business or suspend the establishment's liquor license.

On September 18, a bar in neighboring Jersey County had a similar incident involving a naked bartender.

Police arrested Janet Brannon, 33, who was bartending nude at the Cabin Tavern in Delhi, Illinois. She was arrested on a charge of public indecency by sheriff's deputies who were out on a routine check of bars in the area.

The Jersey County State Attorney's office reviewed the case and suspended the bar's liquor license for 30 days and imposed a $500 fine.

Brannon was released from jail on an $8,000 bond.

Philip Waldbauer - Man Arrested After Complaining He Was Sold A Bag Of “Grass” Instead Of Marijuana

Davenport, Iowa (The Weekly Vice) -- Philip Waldbauer, a 29-year-old Davenport, Iowa man has been arrested after griping to police he was ripped off while attempting to buy a $10 bag of "grass".

According to Davenport police, Waldbauer contacted them Thursday evening, claiming that he had been robbed.

When detectives arrived to investigate the report, Waldbauer allegedly told them that he approached two men about buying a $10 bag of "grass", the street term used as a reference to marijuana. Waldbauer claimed to have paid for the marijuana, only to learn later that he had literally purchased a bag of real grass.

Waldbauer told officers that he had been ripped-off and wanted to report the men who sold him the faux marijuana.

Officers, who decided they had heard enough, arrested Waldbauer on a charge of conspiracy in the attempted purchase of an illegal substance. Investigators also arrested Troy Harrington, 20, on charges of conspiracy and possession with intent to sell.

Waldbauer has prior convictions in Scott County for assault causing bodily injury, assault and impersonating a public official. Harrington is has a pending charge of assault with a deadly weapon from an incident that occurred last month.

Both suspects were booked into the Scott County Jail. Bail has not yet been established.

Ashley Renee Duduk - Stripper Arrested After Scraping Up Car, Then Announcing It Over Text Message

Tampa, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Ashley Renee Duduk, 23-year-old dancer at a strip club has been arrested after damaging ex-boyfriends car and then sending a text message afterward to taunt him over it.

Tampa police arrested Duduk at around 12:30 a.m. Friday morning at her place of employment, Thee Dollhouse in Tampa Florida. Investigators say a witness saw Duduk scraping a car with a sharp object at around 4:15 a.m. on Thursday.

Police also say Duduk's ex-boyfriend received a text message from Duduk that stated "You had company last night."

Investigators say the damage to the vehicle has been estimated at $3,000.

Duduk was booked into the Orient Road Jail before being released on a $2,000 bond.

Ashley Todd - Woman Who Claimed She Was Attacked By Obama Supporter Admits To Making Up Story

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (The Weekly Vice) -- Ashley Todd, a 20-year-old College Station, Texas woman who attracted nationwide attention by claiming she had been attacked by a Senator Obama supporter, admitted to making up story.

Todd, who was working as a McCain campaign volunteer, recently told authorities that she had been attacked by a black male who robbed her and then held her down while he carved the letter "B" into her face. She also claimed the attack came after the attacker noted a McCain bumper sticker on her vehicle.

Investigators began to see some inconsistencies in the woman's story after she submitted to a lie detector test. Investigators also say Todd's story was inconsistent with surveillance camera footage obtained at the ATM machine Todd said she used just prior to the attack.

On the third day of questioning, Todd allegedly confessed to police that she made up the story, according to Pittsburgh police.

She "just opened up and said she wanted to tell the truth," said Maurita Bryant, assistant chief of the police investigations division.

Authorities say Todd did not offer an explanation for the story except that she suffered from a history of "mental problems". Authorities do not believe anyone put her up to the story.

Todd was charged with filing a false police report.

This story isn't unlike the other droves of insane people who grace our pages each day. What makes it interesting though are the suckers who surfaced because of it.

The conservative bloggers who pounced on the story as a horrid example of how bad liberals are... and now the liberal bloggers who use the story as an example of how bad conservatives are.

The real fools are not the desperate people who do crazy things to draw attention to themselves, but kool-aid drinking blow-hards who think such nonsense is important in a Presidency that will have global importance.
