Alan Michael Tanguay - 16 Year Old Murders Woman For Six Dollars. Spends Money On Beer

Palm Bay, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Alan Michael Tanguay, a 16 year old Palm Bay teen has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder after killing an innocent woman and then robbing her of $6 in beer money.

Tanguay, who self-described himself as a "psychotic killer" confessed Monday morning to killing 58-year-old Patricia Kaliszeski, after police arrested him at his Vin Rose home in Palm Bay early Monday morning.

Investigators say Kaliszeski's body was found by her ex-husband who found her in the bedroom of her home, faced down in a pool of blood.

Police began to unravel the strange death after witnesses came forward to report what Tanguay had been telling them about the murder.

"What he did was quite disturbing," said Yvonne Martinez of the Palm Bay Police Dept. "We had two witnesses who came forward after the victim was found. Apparently he had been telling people he killed somebody and robbed her of six dollars."

Investigators say Tanguay broke into the home and found Kaliszeski sitting on her bed. He then found a knife inside the home and proceeded to stab and slash the woman's neck.

"He stabbed her multiple times and across the neck to the point where he nearly severed her head," said Martinez.

The Teen then took the money and bought beer, according to police.

Kaliszeski's ex-husband, Steven Spina, lamented the horrific death, stating "She had a heart of gold. She never did nothing to no one." He added that Kaliszeski was part of his extended family, even working alongside his girlfriend in the Palm Bay Academy cafeteria.

One witness told police that Tanguay had bragged about killing someone else in the past, stating "he said he has a rule. If he finds someone in the house during a burglary, he has to kill them."

Authorities have reportedly detained Tanguay in the Juvenile Detention Center in Sharpes, but may charge him as an adult where he would be transferred to an adult facility.

Before Tanguay's MySpace profile was set to private, it was filled with the vile, sick and twisted kind of garbage that makes his involvement in this tragedy unsurprising.

It's too bad that this worm wasn't stepped on by a 2000 pound elephant long before an innocent person had to lose her life. The Weekly Vice extends it's deepest sympathies to Patricia's family. May she rest in peace and justice prevail.

And to the authorities in the matter - charging this troll as an adult is the very LEAST he deserves. He should never see the light of day again.

What Is The Weekly Vice?

Some have characterized the Weekly Vice as a vigilante Blog while others characterize it as a cross between The Jerry Springer Show and America's Most Wanted. It can be funny, strange and serious all at the same time. One thing it is NOT - Boring. You will not find whitewashed, moderated, glossed over nonsense news here.

Formally, The Weekly Vice was created on the realization that our laws have become so skewed toward protecting the rights of the accused, that it regularly tramples the rights of the victim.

While the jails fill up with petty drug possession charges, violent offenders and sex predators are paroled early, given house arrest or have their entire sentence suspended. NOT GOOD ENOUGH when it comes to our children.

We're here to ensure that victims of crime aren't forgotten and the predators who victimize them are shamed. We are also here to increase awareness of what goes on in your neighborhood, so you can keep your family safe. Knowledge is power.

It's a sad reality that unless the news involves Britney Spears without panties, the media is hard pressed to cover it. Other media outlets pick one story and beat it into the ground for weeks, ignoring hundreds of other stories that happen in your city each day. We aim to bridge that gap, bringing easily overlooked local stories to the national stage.


How Did The Weekly Vice Get Started

The Weekly Vice got its start in November of 2007 as a response to the Megan Meier Tragedy. Megan Meier was a 13-year-old girl who committed suicide after an adult stalked her using a MySpace Account. The adult posed as a teen boy, who would later humiliate Meier to the point of suicide. Our legal system refused to hold the adult woman accountable for her behavior.

Danny Vice began as an outspoken critic of the case, gaining the attention of the national press, fellow victim advocacy sites and thousands of readers who want our laws strengthened to better protect our children.

Since then, several writers have joined The Weekly Vice, devoted to exploring the social insanity that lives among us.

Marc Clifton Bryant - Utah Man Who Raped A Teenage Girl While Torturing Her With A Blowtorch And Screwdriver Arrested In Florida

Jacksonville, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Marc Clifton Bryant, a Utah fugitive who was convicted after torturing a 16 year old girl with a blowtorch and screwdriver while he raped her, has been captured.

Restaurant managers of a Jacksonville Golden Corral considered Bryant a great employee, even stating "He possibly was going to be a team member of the month this month," according to manager Allen Johnson. What they didn't know was that Bryant was a convicted felon on the run after he brutally raped and tortured a 16-year-old teen.

An employee at the restaurant contacted authorities after viewing an episode of America's Most Wanted which featured the Bryant case last week. Salt Lake City based FBI agent Juan Becerra said Bryant was arrested on Thursday morning at the restaurant.

Bryant was convicted in April on charges of aggravated kidnapping, child abuse, criminal solicitation, rape of a minor and making terroristic threats. Investigators say Bryant handcuffed a 16-year-old girl to a bed, raped her, tortured her with a blowtorch and scarred her with a heated screwdriver.

Bryant was initially in jail awaiting trial, but then fled the state after posting bail. The trial went forward without him, resulting in his conviction as the Washington County Sheriff's office, the FBI and America's Most Wanted worked together for his recapture.

Bryant is being held without bond at the Duval County Jail while awaiting extradition back to Utah.

Bobbie Stickney, the victim in the case, shared her story with America’s Most Wanted which aired Saturday night. She and her mother called the employee who turned Bryant in, a hero. Bobbie, who is now 21 expressed great relief at Bryant’s capture and is now starting nursing school.

Here once again is yet another example of our legal system's refusal to truly take the crime of child rape seriously - by letting a majority of these twisted criminals out of jail on pointlessly low bail amounts and/or electronic monitoring.

The incident here was far more graphic and abusive than we have room for here. Bryant tortured this girl for hours which included almost drowning her in a tub of water, beating her and tying her to the back bumper of his truck; forcing her to run barefoot behind it.

Why did he do all of this? This perverted SOB 'thought' she might be interested in a boy at school. Although she wasn't, he decided to torture an admission out of her anyway.

What part of this whole scenario could possibly tell any judge that it would be a good idea to let this monster out of jail? It really just baffles the imagination

Ashley Greenhill / Clint Anderson - Couple Arrested On Allegations Of Repeatedly Biting 2-Year-Old Boy

Florence, Tennessee (The Weekly Vice) -- Clint Matthew Anderson, 22, and Ashley Fawn Greenhill, 21, have been arrested on accusations of repeatedly biting a 2-year-old boy.

Police originally arrested Greenhill on September 18 for allegedly biting her two year old son multiple times and causing other injuries. Greenhill was arrested after the boy's grandparents found bite marks, severe bruising and scratch marks on the child's face, neck, arm, buttocks, head and back.

Now, Greenhill's boyfriend Clint Anderson has also been arrested in connection to the case. Both adults have been charged with felony torture or willful abuse of a child under 18 by a responsible and 3rd-degree domestic violence assault.

Investigators say the child's grandparents usually watch the 2-year-old boy, but that he spent a few days with his mother. When the boy was returned to his grandparents, they found at least six bite marks, scratches and large bruises on the boy.

Detectives believe the alleged abuse occurred between September 14 and 16. Police first learned of the injuries were reported on September 16.

Greenhill told police that the bite marks were caused by another child, but medical examiners have concluded that the bite marks are consistent with that of an adult, not a child. Greenhill also stated that child's other injuries were caused by falling off of a tricycle, however doctors say the child's injuries are not consistent with that explanation either.

Anderson and Greenhill were booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center without bail. Court records indicate Anderson was already out on bail after his arrest in April on charges of burglary, theft, criminal mischief and stolen property.

Kevin Folk / Justine Rabell - Couple Brings Infant Along For Drug Deal Designed To Go Bad

Chandler, Arizona (The Weekly Vice) -- 19-year-olds Kevin Folk and Justine Rabell, who reside in Tempe Arizona, have been arrested after police say they arranged a crooked drug deal and then brought a 1-year-old infant along for the ride.

According to Chandler police, Rabell's infant son was in the back seat of a car as Kevin Folk and Justine Rabell sat in a Safeway parking lot, conducting a drug deal that was being monitored by police.

As detectives listened in, Folk and Rabell agreed to sell 46 ecstasy tablets for $700 - requesting the money in advance with a promise to return with the drugs. Later, the couple allegedly admitted that they planned to rip off the buyer by not returning with the drugs, according to court documents.

According to court documents, Folk told investigators that selling drugs and accepting money from relatives had been their only source of income for the past two months. He also told police he didn't think about the danger he would put the child in by taking him along on a drug deal.

Folk and Rabell were charged with suspicion of child abuse and drug offenses. Folk was ordered held on $9,000 bail while Rabell is ordered held on $9,788 bail.

Rabell has an outstanding charge for shoplifting that is still pending.

Sandra Binkley - Portland Teacher Accused Of Having Sex With Student During School Hours

Portland, Tennessee (The Weekly Vice) -- Sandra Binkley, a 36-year-old math teacher at Portland high School in Portland, Tennessee has been arrested and charged with statutory rape by an authority figure after police say she had sex with a 17-year-old student.

According to Portland police, Brinkley allegedly had sex with a male student in March during school hours while other students were in the building.

Portland police learned about the alleged one time incident after the student told his parents who then contacted the school principal.

"My son called and told me what had happened and I was very upset," said boy's parent, Fred Rogers.

According to school officials, Binkley has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the case.

"The Sumner County School District will not tolerate the type of behavior alleged in this incident for any of it's employees," said Sumner County Schools spokesperson Jeremy Johnson.

Binkley was arrested on Thursday and booked into the Sumner County jail. She was released after posting a $5,000 bond.

UPDATE: October 3, 2008 Binkly Faces New Charges

Sandra Binkley surrendered to police on Wednesday on three new sex charges involving additional students. Authorities say Binkley had sexual relationships with two additional students at the school.

Investigators say Binkley has sexual contact with the first student in a classroom closet on two seperate occasions. Once in November 2007 and again in August 2008. Binkley allegedly had sex with the second student in a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of the student's home.

Binkley now faces three counts of statutory rape by an authority figure and one count of sexual batter by an authoritiy figure. All felony charges.

Matt Allsup - Middle School Boy And His Mother Fight School Who Banned Him From Wearing Makeup

Hamilton, Ohio (The Weekly Vice) -- Matt Allsup, a 13-year-old student at Garfield Middle School in Hamilton, Ohio is fighting for "his right" to wear make up - and his mother is fighting right along with him.

At a time when most of the country is talking about lipstick on pigs, Matt Allsup and his mother Mindy Ball are engaged in another kind of lipstick issue. Mother and son are fighting school administrators who ordered Allsup to remove the makeup he was wearing Monday, citing that it was a distraction and violated the school dress code.

The makeup Matt wore, which is meant more as a goth look rather than a "girly" look, involves the application of lipstick, eye makeup and black fingernail polish.

Matt's mother Mindy told reporters that she stands behind her son's right to wear makeup at school 100% and believes the school is violating her son's rights.

"They're gender stereo-typing. He's being sexually discriminated against," said Ball. "Nowhere in the rules does it say that males can't wear makeup."

"When I spoke to the principal, she told me it was distracting because of the black makeup," said Ball. "I said, 'Well, I'll get him pink,' and [the principal] said, 'No, because he's a male, he's not allowed to wear it, the public don't accept males wearing make-up."

Allsup and his mother have since vowed to fight the school's ban on wearing makeup. Besides taking their case to the media, they have said they plan to hire an attorney and pursue the matter in court.

Hamilton School District spokesperson Joni Copas said both females and males will be asked to remove makeup that is deemed to be 'too harsh'. She also stated there have been no further incidents at the school since Allsup removed his makeup.

So what do you think about this issue? Should a male have the right to wear make up at school? What if he decided to wear a skirt to school? Should it matter?

It's actually surprising to us that the issue hasn't already been beaten to death already. It's been 20 years since I've been in high school, but even then, guys sometimes wore goth style makeup and had ear piercings. I can't remember a high school year that we didn't have some guy trotting down the hall between classes with a fully fanned mohawk that stood a foot high.

It was only a distraction for the first few days as students wondered what school administrators would do about it. When everyone realized that it was a non-issue to teachers and school staff - it became a non-issue to the kids, and the school year proceeded on as usual.

If a boy wants to look like he's been kissing a cow's behind, then so be it. He'll learn to let go of things like black make up a lot faster when he realizes no value comes from it. Not because school admins consider his interests of no value. Just my humble opinion.

Luis Justo Serrano - Florida Man Has A Cock Problem. Arrested For Breeding, Training Birds For Illegal Cockfighting Operation

Palm Beach, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Luis Justo Serrano, a 37-year-old West Palm Beach, Florida man has been arrested on accusations that he operated a large cockfighting farm that was used to breed and train approximately 90 roosters for the illegal sport.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies searched Serrano's property August 29 to find a large scale cockfighting operation that authorities say involved approximately 90 birds.

Sheriff's deputies found 31 caged roosters on Serrano's property that were groomed in a manner consistent with preparing the birds for cockfighting, said a spokesperson for the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office. Investigators also found Hens, chicks and juvenile roosters who were found in cages or incubators.

Authorities allegedly found a circular cockfighting arena that investigators believe was used by Serrano to host rooster fights and train birds for future fights. Deputies also found other materials commonly used to prepare birds for cockfighting such as performance enhancing drugs, injection records, syringes and vials of antibiotics.

Serrano was arrested at the completion of the investigation and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on a $6,000 bond.

He has been charged with selling and possessing animals to fight and possession of equipment for animal fighting.

Morgan Alicia Jodeen Larson - 18 Year Old Woman Indicted On Sexual Abuse Charges Involving Two Young Relatives

Salem, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Morgan Alicia Jodeen Larson, an 18-year-old Salem, Florida woman has been indicted by a grand jury on rape and other related sex charges involving the ongoing molestation of two young relatives.

A Marion County grand jury indicted Larson, after police allege she sexually abused an 11-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy who are her relatives. Investigators believe the sexual abuse began two to three years ago when Larson was 15 or 16 years old.

Police believe Larson had sexual intercourse with the 8-year-old boy and sexually molested the girl.

Police first became aware of the alleged incidents when the girl told another family member about the alleged abuse. Police interviewed the two children who both confirmed the abuse, according to Salem Police spokesperson, Charlene Tucker.

Tucker has denied the charges, telling police she couldn't understand why the two children would make such accusations.

Larson has been indicted on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, first-degree sex abuse, first-degree sodomy and first-degree use of a child in a display of sexual conduct.

Larson was arrested on September 6, but wasn't officially indicted on the charges until September 16. She is being held without bail at the Marion County Jail.

Alyson Perri-Jarvis - Third Grade Teacher Arrested On Charges Of Having A Long Term Sexual Relationship With Neighborhood Teen

Largo, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Alyson Perri-Jarvis, a 36-year-old third grade teacher at Southern Oaks Elementary School in Largo, Florida has been arrested on accusations that she had an ongoing sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy from her neighborhood.

According to police, Perri-Jarvis began a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy in July of 2006 that allegedly continued through August of this year.

Investigators say Perri-Jarvis met the teen through neighborhood and family connections in 2005 and then engaged in an ongoing sexual relationship that spanned approximately two years. Police also say the sexual activity occurred at various locations throughout the Pinellas County area.

Police first became aware of the allegations when the boy, who is now 18-years-old, filed a report with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Department on Friday.

Perri-Jarvis was arrested and booked into the Pinellas County Jail where she was ordered held on a $50,000 bond.

Sheral Lee Smith - Teacher Accused Of Statutory Rape Of Student After Just Three Weeks Of Teaching

Jackson, Mississippi (The Weekly Vice) -- Sheral Lee Smith, a 37-year-old former teacher at New Summit School in Jackson, Mississippi has been arrested and charged with statutory rape and drug charges involving a 14 year old student.

Smith was arrested last Wednesday on allegations that she had sexual contact with a 14-year-old student who attended the school where she taught. Police say however that Smith was not the student's teacher.

Investigators believe the alleged sexual abuse occurred a few weeks ago at Smith's Rankin County Home and continued over the course of a couple of months. Authorities also believe Smith gave the boy a pill, according to Ronnie Pennington of the Rankin County Sheriff's department.

"Their relationship began before she started teaching," said Pennington.

Smith has disputed the allegations, telling a local newspaper:

"My husband coached [the student] in soccer. He has been in our home many times," said Smith, adding that the allegations began as a rumor started by a 16-year-old student from the same school.

New Summit School officials said that Smith was suspended after her arrest and has since been dismissed from her employment with the school. She had worked at the school for just three weeks.

Smith was booked into jail on charges of statutory rape and transfer of a controlled substance. She was released after posting a $50,000 bond.

Holly Nuttall - Woman Sues Salon Over Skin Peel That Changed Her From Beauty To Beast

Plymouth, UK (The Weekly Vice) -- Women who are dreaming of silky smooth skin and considering a chemical peel.... Holly Nuttall would like to have a word with you.

Holly Nuttal, a 30-year-old woman from Plymouth, England had the same dream of fresh, smooth skin. She trotted down to a local salon and began the seemingly painless 15-minutes treatment, never knowing the horror that was about to await her.

Three days after the procedure, she didn't see the fresh, smooth skin emerging that she expected. Instead she found a blotchy, swollen, scarred face staring back.

The swelling continued, and eventually Nuttal found herself in a Derriford hospital battling for her life as the swelling began to restrict her windpipe - making it difficult to breath.

"It was horrific," says Holly about the ordeal. "I thought I was going to die. I sat in [the] hospital and wondered if my face would ever stop swelling."

Doctors treated Holly with morphine, steroids and anti-histamine, which helped to reduce the swelling. Her skin however still bears the blotchy, chicken pox-like blemishes from the severe allergic reaction that resulted from the treatment.

"Now I have to deal with the blisters and rash," said Holly. "It's not awful, but they are a reminder of what can happen if your body reacts to a chemical beauty treatment."

Holly, has filed suit against the salon, claiming that it should have first conducted a skin test for potential allergic reactions to the chemicals that would be used.

"Women should be aware of the awful consequences if things go wrong," Holly said.

We're sorry to see Holly inherit an elephant hide for her face, however we think her lawsuit is "rubbish" as the Brits like to call it.

If salons began performing multiple allergy tests before every hair dye, perm and skin peel, women would be stampeding to the manager, asking why it's taking so long to get into their appointments.

It's just not practical to run a battery of allergy tests, especially when multiple chemicals are involved.

If you eat a peanut and then learn you are allergic to peanuts, should you sue Mr. Peanut?

Police Return Bag Of Pot To University Of Colorado Student

Denver, Colorado (The Weekly Vice) -- University of Colorado Campus police did something few police officers have ever done in their career. Hand a student a bag of marijuana LEGALLY.

Edward Nicholson, a 23-year-old University of Colorado student and a medical-marijuana cardholder, had marijuana returned to him on Monday, compliments of CU Boulder's campus police.

Nicholson is a medical marijuana cardholder, a designation which allows caregivers to possess marijuana that has been prescribed to patients. Nicholson explained to campus authorities that he was holding the marijuana for his 23-year-old brother who has been prescribed marijuana for chronic pain.

Campus authorities had confiscated the marijuana after smelling the odor of pot coming from his dorm room last winter. Campus authorities also threatened to suspend the student for one semester, require him to perform community service and assign him a paper, detailing the harmful effects of marijuana. University authorities shifted course however when Nicholson retained an attorney and threatened to sue the university.

Nicholson explained that he was holding the marijuana as a matter of cost and convenience to his brother.

"A doctor prescribed it as a medicine that would help him live daily life," said Nicholson. "It's easier to get in Boulder and it's also cheaper and because it saves him some work,"

Moments after getting the pot back, Nicholson and his attorney Robert Corry hailed it's return as a "victory for CU students."

Since campus police smelled pot coming from Nicholson's dorm room, it's likely to us that Nicholson was not just holding the stash. He was likely putting a little of that stash to personal use as well.

Yeah, Nicholson, we know how it works.

But Nicholson's attorney is exactly right in this matter. State lawmakers dreamt up this whole policy of medical marijuana cardholders, while leaving it's limitations wildly loose-ended.

For example, Nicholson is a cardholder as a "caregiver" while he's in a completely different city from his family (who lives in Aurora). This obviously stretches the intent of the law past it's intended provisions - But that's not Nicholson's responsibility to care about. It's the responsibility of lawmakers.

Thomas Daley - Police Arrest Landlard After Discovering Elaborate Network Of Peeping Tom Cameras Wired Into Properties Rented By Females

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (The Weekly Vice) -- Thomas Daley, a 45-year-old landlord from Phoenixville has been arrested on accusations that he used an elaborate system of hidden cameras to repeatedly spy on female tenants for years.

Thomas Daley was arrested on Friday following a police investigation of his rental properties that have uncovered a long-term video voyeur operation he used to secretly spy on his tenants.

According to police, Daley installed and used an entire network of hidden cameras to spy on female tenants who rented apartments from him in the Norristown, Pa. area.

Police, who are currently searching 16 of his rental properties, have uncovered an elaborate network of video cameras that were installed behind mirrors, within ceiling fans and in cabinets, according to investigators. Police say Daley's cameras peered into the bathrooms, bedrooms and living rooms of the female victims who rented from him. Investigators have not yet found any of the same recording devices installed in properties that have been rented by male tenants.

Police first became aware of Daley's alleged activity when a female tenant discovered a camera in her apartment. Wires to the camera were followed down to a recording device located in the basement of the property.

'He had such an elaborate system set up that when someone in the apartment would activate a light switch or a ceiling fan, he was able, via the Internet, to retrieve the video images or audio,' said Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman.

Daley has been arrested on suspicion of wiretapping, invasion of privacy and criminal use of a communications device, however Ferman insisted the case was in it's very beginning stages.

'This is really the tip of the iceberg in a much large case,' Ferman Said.

In addition to the video hardware, police also confiscated a stockpile of video recordings that Daley collected over the course of several years. Under questioning, Daley admitted to detectives that his voyeuristic recordings have continued for approximately 20 years.

'Some of the tapes were the old fashioned VHS tapes and the more recent were digital,' explained Ferman. 'so it clearly spans several generations of technology.'

Daley is currently being held on a $1 million dollar bond and is expected to appear back in court on September 29th.

This landlord had his own little reenactment of the movie 'Sliver' going on apparently, although on a slightly smaller scale. We've written on several cases of video voyeurism over the past two months - however we're really quite surprised we haven't seen more of this, really. Cameras are so tiny now, they really can be hidden just about anywhere.

With an excessive number of voyeurs out there submitting their recorded material to various Internet sites, we know the problem is about 100 times more widespread than what actually gets uncovered. For example, Daley's camera was found at one property, however cameras at the other two properties were never found until police tore the place apart finding them.

Female tenants who rent apartments really need to give a potential new residence a very thorough lookover, before moving in. If the landlord isn't peeping, it's the maintenance man. If it's not the maintenance man peeping, then it's some other pervert who has occasional access to the property.

Reassuring, isn't it?

James Seever / Debra Chappel - Couple Converts Residence Into Landfill, Toddler Rescued From Home That “Rained Down Roaches”

Leesburg, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- James Seever, 40, and Debra Chappell, 27, of Leesburg, Florida have been arrested and charged with child neglect after police find a house literally "raining roaches". Roach covered toddler stopped from playing with butane aerosol gas container moments before the child put the nozzle in her mouth.

You've heard the phrase 'white trash' before we're sure. Well, you'll have to rethink who truly deserves that designation now. Thanks to James and Debra, that bar has officially been lowered.

Wednesday morning, a Leesburg police officer along with a Florida DCF investigator dropped by Seever and Chappell's home to look into a report they received that alleged a child was living in their home in unsanitary conditions. The allegation made was partially confirmed before authorities even got inside the house.

As the agent and officer approached the home, the first indication that something was wrong, was a pile of approximately 60 diapers which had been piled outside the home on the porch.

When the investigators were allowed inside the home, they were hit with an overwhelmingly foul odor accompanied by a shocking sight. Literally thousands of roaches permeated the home - crawling on walls, hallways, storage areas, cupboards, drawers and closets. Roaches were allegedly found crawling on a 2-year-old toddler in the house, who had been sleeping in a roach infested crib.

Rancid, spoiled food littered the kitchen area along with overflowing trash cans. Walkways and counter tops were layered with dirty clothes, mold encrusted cooking utensils, discarded food boxes and insects. The bathroom was so unsanitary that a black layer of filth coated the porcelain while clothing, toys, discarded materials and stinking towels littered the floor.
When an officer opened the refrigerator door, he allegedly jumped away because of the overwhelming number of "roaches that rained down on him."

While authorities were investigating, the child woke up - prompting the mother to take her out of the crib and place her on the floor. Investigators say the child allegedly crawled over to a butane aerosol gas container and attempted to put the uncovered nozzle in her mouth before investigators stopped her.

To top things off, investigators noted the presence of exposed wires along with abundant insect nests and cobwebs in the home. Authorities captured photographs from the scene to support their case, although the unbearable smell will have to be left up to your imagination.

James Seevers and Debra Chappell were arrested, charged with felony child neglect and booked into the Lake County Jail. The 2-year-old child was placed with Florida DCF.

Incidentally, the couple told authorities that they had lived in the residence for only four months. I'd say it must have taken a great effort to convert an empty residence into a roach infested landfill in a mere 4 months.

Luckily, authorities didn't find any rodents, which could mean only one thing. Even rats have some standard of living.
