Apple Valley, Minnesota (The Weekly Vice) -- Melissa Diana Koehn, a 30-year-old teacher and coach at St. Croix Lutheran High School in West St. Paul, Minnesota has been arrested on felony sex charges after a police officer discovered her making out with female student.Koehn was charged Tuesday with three felony counts of 4th-degree criminal sexual conduct after allegedly having an ongoing sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student, according to Apple Valley police.
Dakota County Prosecutors say a police officer on patrol found Koehn and the teen kissing in a 'fully reclined' position inside a parked vehicle and became suspicious because of the age difference and a letter jacket the teen was wearing.
The officer then reportedly checked the school staff registry and found Koehn listed as a teacher and coach at the school the student attended. He then contacted the student's parents and informed them of the situation.
Investigators who interviewed Koehn and the student say they each admitted to having sexual contact, beginning in August, 2008. The relationship then continued, leading to multiple instances of sexual contact between Koehn and the student, according to the arrest report.
The student's parents admitted to authorities that the teacher had slept in their daughter's room on a number of occasions, but believed Koehn slept on the floor. They told authorities they were unaware of any sexual activity that had occurred.
Koehn was booked into jail and then made an initial court appearance on Tuesday. She was released later that afternoon on $10,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear in court again on Feb. 9.

I am sorry, but I wonder about the parents to. Why would they allow an older person in their childs room to "sleep",,ya right,,,they should be charged with "failure to protect" as well.

I have lovely children, and I don't want to sleep with them voluntarily! They're noisy, and wiggly, and it's not conducive to a good night's sleep. So what is UP with the parents here? The teacher - obviously we understand is a lesbian pedophile.

who cares if she is a lesbian? the big problem here is that she had a relationship with a student. it would be just as upsetting if it was a male. she only made one stupid choice: not waiting until the girl's birthday.
i also had this woman for a teacher, and she is amazing. God forgives her for her sins just as He forgives all of ours. quit being so judgmental.
i had her as a teacher as well, and anyone else you had her as a teacher knows damn well that favoritized her basketball girls. So, in a way this is no surprise to me. i always thought she just had a hard time getting along w/ guys, but it turns out she is just a dike. ......and people are failing to mention that she was also a dorm supervisor, and on numerous occasions would have girls in her room w/ the door closed. Who knows how long this has been going on for and w/ how many students. ......and it is a big deal that she is a lesbian, because, AND had a relationship w/ a student. One is a violation against God's word, and the other is a violation against the law. ........
I also had this woman as a teacher and I can tell you that I never liked her. She was NOT nice and she did favor people who were on sports teams (especially basketball and especially the girls) and now we all know why, not that it wasn't obvious at the time. Apparently it was only obvious to me. My point in writing this is to let people know that what this woman did was not only against the law but also against everything that our school stood for. She was a two-faced liar and she needs to pay the penalty for her the crime that she committed. She took advantage of a young girl and she used her power as an authority figure to get what she wanted. She was obviously not thinking about anyone else when she made the decision to start this relationship. Did she think about how this would affect the person she was having the relationship with?! No she did not! Now this person has to go to the same school where this woman was a former teacher. She has to face her classmates and the memories of this terrible ordeal. People who do things like this are extremely selfish. I hope that this woman gets her teaching license taken away so that she will never be able to teach again. It doesn't matter how amazing or wonderful you think she is. She broke the law and now she has to face the consequences. Don't feel sorry for her, this is her own fault. She could have waited until the girl was older, but she didn't, she was selfish.

hahahahaha!!!!!! i went to that school and it sucked. i lived in the dorms, and though that woman was a bitch. luck for me, i was only in the dorms with her one year. it just makes me sooo happy to see this happen to such a self righteous christian school.
A former student said "I hope this woman gets her teaching license taken away ...". You can rest assured, former student, that she will DEFINITELY get her Minnesota teacher's license taken away! And, in addition, she may never be able to teach in any other state, either, although sometimes felons slip through the cracks (no pun intended). It's unusual to have a female student with a female teacher, but it seems that whatever the depraved human mind can imagine, can happen in the real world, too. I hope the young student gets appropriate counselling because believe it or not, fellow students, your sexuality is just beginning to being developed even though your bodies have been developed for a few years now. Hopefully this incident will become a "teachable moment" in this school and the other school's in this area. There are a lot of issues for the young people to discuss and develop opinions about before they graduate and go out into a sometime VERY spooky world out here.
