Justin Shoulta's MySpace Profile
Paducah, Kentucky (The Weekly Vice) -- Justin Shoulta, a 20-year-old volunteer band booster at Reidland High School, in Paducah, Kentucky has been arrested on charges of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old female student.
According to police, Shoulta was arrested Thursday on charges of first-degree sexual abuse for allegedly engaging in sexual contact with a 14-year-old female student who attends the school Shoulta volunteered at.
Police first became aware of the alleged activity by way of an anonymous tip which resulted in an investigation.
Investigators say Shoulta allegedly admitted to having an inappropriate relationship with the teen and admitted to engaging in inappropriate sexual contact with her over the Thanksgiving break.
Shoulta is being charged with a first-degree felony in the case because of a recent change in the Kentucky statute which broadened the qualifier to include all adults that are in a position of trust i.e. parents, teachers, coaches, adult relatives and adult volunteers.
Shoulta was booked into the McCracken County Jail, but was released Friday after posting bail.
Incidentally, Shoulta also claims to have founded a company known as PARANORM INC.or WKPI which begs for donations to support it's purported 25+ investigators and specialists who investigate area hauntings. At the time of this posting, the "company" website was HERE.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Shoulta's MySpace profile gets set to private soon, so I'll just comment on some details of this case that I thought were interesting.
First, someone is currently traveling to various blogs, claiming that all the "facts" and details about this case are "all wrong". This person, who names herself 'girlfriend', states that Shoulta was not a band volunteer and never did anything. He's just a big victim.
His MySpace profile of course disputes a lot of this by posting pictures of the band he volunteered for, calling them 'His Bitches'. It's also interesting to note that Shoulta just got married in May of this year (according to his profile). So why would he have a girlfriend?
And what about that whole issue? Married just a few months and you're already up to your neck in "girlfriends" and underaged girls?
I would imagine one way or another, our good friend Justin will find himself in one of two houses eventually. Either the jail house or the dog house.

While Paducah, KY isn't exactly a "Deliverance"-type backwoods haven (it's actually a pleasant little burg), I think what we're looking at here is just another case of redneck romance. These kinds of cases often bring age of consent questions into the debate. In this era of prolonged adolescence, a 20 year old probably isn't that much more mature than a 14 year old. This guy and the girl in question were probably "dating" and thought it perfectly okay. Still...Dude! Romeo & Juliet was just a PLAY! This is the real world where this kinda "forbidden love" thing isn't considered romantic! It's a CRIME! And he's supposedly married AND a paranormal investigator? I imagine this case, if he's convicted as a sex offender, will be what REALLY haunts this guy...for the rest of his life!
thats why they call it "jail bait". but brings up interesting question. why do the public shcools allow 20 yr. old men to work around teens anyway? perhaps they should "cap" the age limit to say 25? or something. still no excuse, they all know the consequences.
