Damascus, Virginia (The Weekly Vice) -- Jodi Lee Counts, a 30-year-old former science teacher at Holston High School in Damascus, Virginia has been arrested on multiple child abuse and drug related offenses.
Counts was charged Monday with five counts of child abuse/neglect and five drug-related charges which include possession and possession with intent to manufacture and distribute.
Authorities say the arrest concludes a 7-month investigation of the former teacher that began in May of this year, according to Fred Newman of the Washington County Sheriff's office.
Authorities say Counts possessed, manufactured and/or sold various drugs that include cocaine, methamphetamine and hydrocodone from her home on Summit drive. Child abuse/neglect charges resulted because Counts allegedly conducted her drug-related activities in front of her three children.
Counts reportedly tendered her resignation from her teaching duties at the school back in October. School officials and police do not believe the charges involve any students that Counts taught.
Counts was released from jail after posting a $20,000 bond.

sigh. I know teachers get in trouble just like everyone else, but...
I don't think she realizes Weeds is just a TV show.
