Greensburg, Pennsylvania (The Weekly Vice) -- Jesus Rodriguez, a 34-year-old Greensburg, Pennsylvania man was arrested on multiple charges after authorities say he left his 3-year-old son in the same dirty diaper for weeks at a time.
A 3-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition Christmas Day after authorities discovered the boy and his 4-year-old sister in an emaciated condition and living in filth.
Rodriguez, the child's father, was arrested the same day after authorities say he left his son in dirty diapers for so long, they caused second-degree burns to the boy's legs and genitals.
Authorities first became aware of the situation when the the child's Uncle dropped by the family's apartment to wish the kids a Merry Christmas. When the door was opened, the Uncle was struck by a strong odor of feces and filthy conditions.
The Uncle told police that when he tried to pick up the boy "the child instantly began screaming in pain." He immediately called police.
When investigators arrived, they found the boy and his sister covered with feces. The children also appeared emaciated, ungroomed and complained that they had not been fed.
"Conditions were pretty deplorable," said Greensburg Police Chief, Waler Lyons. "The house was in shambles, there was old food left around. There was feces on the floor. Conditions were that of we wouldn't want a three and four-year-old living in."
Rodriguez was booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment and simple assault.
The boy is still being treated in the burn unit at West Penn Hospital. The girl was briefly hospitalized and then released into the care of Westmoreland Child Services.
The mother of the children is reportedly serving a jail sentence.

Well, here we go again. Just when you think it can't get any more bizarre, it does. Can you imagine a child living in the same soiled diaper for a month with feces all over the floor? This man shouldn't be put in charge of flushing a toilet, let alone two kids.
There is one silver lining in this story - and I'm sure it's only one. Our hat is off to the Uncle who didn't debate the situation. He didn't make excuses for the situation. He simply put a dead stop to the situation by calling police. At last, someone stands up and does the right thing!

This makes me so angry, why have children if you don't want to take care of them? But, we all know the answer to that question. They keep reproducing to ensure that the welfare checks keep rolling in.
I hope to God that the Uncle gets custody of these kids, they deserve so much better than the POS father they have.
I would also like to know if this asshole is here legally?
I really think it's time to consider sterilization. Seriously.. Not for every situation, but for situations like this where the parent has proven him/her self to be completely incapable of thinking rationally.

In a just world,this asshole would be stuffed into the bottom of an outhouse and forced to live there for an inordinate amount of time. If he becomes hungry,he can always feed upon the contents of his new environment.

When he's to the point of starving, then he can eat the same thing all over again & again & again!!
we are the grand parents and the children are doing fine in our care now. they are happy and safe.the uncle was not allowed (by the father)to see the children only in passing.that day the father was so high the uncle was able to walk in to wish the kids merry christmas.i thank the lord he did.they were kept from us also.but we live in n.c.and it was hard for us to get to pa.very often.but dec 26 was a road trip that had to happen no matter what!!!thanks for the comments that i agree with about the father.
So thank god those children are far far away from their scumbag sperm donor... I believe he should not be refered to as their dad. Anybody can be a father but it takes a true MAN to be a dad! Thank god for good grandparents! They may not be alive if it weren't for you and their uncle!
I am the grandmother of these two children cys turned the kids over to us and now will not get us the info we need to get these kids to the doctors for test they need because the kids were subjected to drugs all we need is a paper stating that we have the kids but cys is to busy to put it into the mailbox
Grandmother, do you have a caseworker assigned specifically to this case?
If so, send me the caseworker's email address and we'll see if we can't motivate them.
cys finally got us the paperwork we needed to get them checked out and we have done that and they are both healthy.thanks for the support

i have a question for the grandparent: on another blog that ran this story a poster today said that the father passed away this week. not too sure of the reliability...almost sounds like a troll to me. could you confirm whether or not this is true? thank you....and again God bless you and the children.
