Reno, Nevada (The Weekly Vice) -- April R. Westfall, a 40-year- old Reno, Nevada woman has been arrested on drunk driving charges after leaving a Reno gas station with with the entire gas nozzle and hose still attached to her car.
On Tuesday night in Reno, at around 4:30 a.m., a REMSA ambulance crew heading northbound on Highway 395 noticed something unusual. A dark green Subaru wagon cruising down the highway with a gas pump hose and it's nozzle still inserted into the vehicle's gas tank.
The crew told Nevada Highway Patrol officers that they attempted to alert the driver, who was traveling in the same direction, but was unable to get her attention.
Finally, the ambulance crew conducted a traffic stop and then called the Nevada Highway Patrol, according to NHP Trooper Chuck Allen.
Officers administered a field sobriety test to Westfall, who allegedly failed, according to Allen. Westfall was arrested and booked into the Washoe County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers say they are still attempting to locate the gas station that lost its nozzle and hose.
