Floral City, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- This is perhaps the most depressing story that came out over the weekend. We held off on writing about it on Friday, because there were some details that needed to be confirmed first. Unfortunately, those details have been confirmed.
Alicia Chomic, a 23-year-old mother, and her three young sons were found shot to death Friday, in what investigators are calling an apparent murder-suicide that took place inside her parent's motor home.
Greg and Vickie Maslowski, the woman's mother and stepfather, had just returned to the home when Vickie first discovered her daughter and three grandchildren shot to death inside a room they shared at the home.
"I'm outside the house. I'm not going in the house," Greg told a 911 operator at around 10 a.m. as his wife screamed in horror in the background.
The dead woman and the bodies of her two oldest sons, Thomas Goldsmith Jr, 3, and Damien Lietz, 2, were found together on a bed. Her youngest child, 15-month old Anthony Lietz Jr, was found dead inside his playpen, according to Jeff Dawsy of the Citris County sheriff's office.
Authorities say the slain victims likely died sometime Thursday night and that all evidence currently indicates that Chomic shot each of her three sons and then turned the gun on herself. A firearm was discovered in close proximity to Chomic's body.
Chomic had just moved to her parents home about a week earlier after living in Pasco County, Florida for the past several years.
Authorities say no suicide note was discovered at the scene and interviews by investigators have failed to provide a reason behind the tragedy.
Tony Lietz, who is the father of two of the boys, said he doesn't have a clue as to why she did it.
"We were happy. We were a happy family. I'm trying to grasp what happened still. I'm in shock," said Lietz. "We were trying to start off fresh in a new place and just a new environment for the kids, " he added.
Lietz, who described their relationship as having ups and downs, was arrested for domestic battery against Comic last year on Valentines day. He described Chomic's move back to her parents as a transitional move and that he expected the family to be back together soon.
"No signs, symptoms, no drug use. That's why I'm just boggled. Me and my family are devastated, heartbroken," said Lietz.
Because of the cost, Chomic and her three sons will be laid to rest in a single service funeral that has been planned for Saturday.

Just Horrible.
I'd be willing to bet that the "bereaved" father (who has been charged with abusing the woman) was involved.
To the one who thinks Tony was involved...no. I doubt it. I've known him a very very long time (more than 2/3s of our lives) and even though I haven't been in touch recently, he's not capable of killing his own children...no matter how hard things got.
