Toledo, Ohio (The Weekly Vice) -- Joy Kinsman, 21, and boyfriend Michael Turski, 20, have been arrested in connection to the severe abuse of an 11-month old baby who police say was repeatedly kicked around like a "kick ball".
Emergency crews rushed to a West Toledo home Saturday evening to find an 11-month-old baby suffering from multiple broken bones, bleeding to the brain and hemorrhaging behind the eyes in a situation police are calling a major case of child abuse.
According to police, the child's mother called 911, telling dispatchers that her daughter was having trouble breathing. She also stated that the baby's eyes rolled up into her head and she was limp.
Emergency workers discovered the child had a broken arm, ankle and rib. The child also had multiple bruises, bleeding on the brain and hemorrhaging behind the eyes.
"We're told some of the injuries were recent while others looked to be a week old," said Dean Sparks of child protective services. "Obviously this is a severe case of child abuse.
Although the alleged abuse was discovered on Saturday, Turski was not arrested until Tuesday and Kinsman turned herself in at the Lucas County Jail on Wednesday.
Although police are still sorting out who exactly did what to the child, both parents were arrested on a charge of child endangerment at minimum. Police aren't releasing many details about the case thus far, however it's believed that the child's mother likely stood by while her boyfriend delivered most of the abuse.
Bail has not yet been set in the case.
The child was taken into protective custody and will be placed with foster care upon release from the hospital.

My first question is really going to be quite blunt. What in the #$^% is this woman smiling about in her mug shot?
I'd say police likely have most of this figured out. The boyfriend kicked the living tar out of an 11-month-old baby, but the mother couldn't bring herself to budge an inch until the child literally went limp in her arms.
The fact that doctors say many of the injuries were in the process of healing really isn't surprising. Hateful, twisted monsters like this often times warm up to abuse by first leaving bruises before graduating to broken bones. If this child hadn't passed out, an ambulance still may not have been called.
One more detail. This couple and the baby was at grandmother's house for most of the day. Police don't mention anything about grandmother being around at the time - however that would potentially mean that two people who stood by while this sick bastard was breaking this child's body over and over.
These two inept morons need to tied to the back of a truck and dragged down a gravel road before taking a bath in alcohol. Nothing is more repulsive than torturing a defenseless baby.

I bet these idiots don't get any jail time and they have their baby back in less than a year. I can't believe this! these too people should be brought up on attempted murder charges. They should be tried to the fullest extent of the law. but they probably get a slap on the wrist and have to take "parenting" classes. Lets get real here people! How do we know it was just the guy kicking the child, how do we not know that the mother could be at fault also. The news can be pretty one sided too, so most people can not just blame the mother why don't we wait and see what is really going on. Maybe a upset mother whose boyfriend was going to break up with her and she probably took it out on her child.

Regardless of whether he participated in the abuse, he was present in the household. ANY adult in the household is responsible for this whether they caused the harm directly by striking the child or indirectly by not calling the police. And stop trying to bring race into this. Why do people keep referring to the color of the accused? It doesn't matter what color they are...there are child abusers in all groups.
Whoever committed the abuse as well as anyone who had knowledge of it and did nothing...or were present in the home and SHOULD have known...are all guilty and should be punished.
I think both of these People deserve to Rot in jail for what they have done. And That baby does not deserve to go to a family member BC Joys parents are a bunch of low life's that steal from anyone they know and ruin peoples lives. That is why their Daughter is the way she is! So If child services gives that baby to the grandparents, it will be a bigger mistake than Joy actually having the baby. I think that poor baby deserves a better family away from anyone related to those two bastards!
