Orange, California (The Weekly Vice) -- Carlie Rose Attebury, a 29-year-old music/band teacher at El Modena High School in Orange, California has been charged with repeatedly having sex with her student.
Attebury was arrested at the Orange police station after detectives questioned her about allegations of sexual misconduct involving a male student that was alleged on Oct. 10, according to Orange police spokesperson Sgt. Dan Adams.
"We do expect charges to be filed soon," said Adams.
Prosecutors are reviewing the case according to Orange County district attorney's office spokesperson Farrah Emami and the cased is still being investigated according to police.
A spokesperson with the Orange Unified School System stated that Attebury has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
She was booked into the Orange County Jail, but was released after posting $50,000 bail.
UPDATE:
Prosecutors have now announced charges in Attebury's case, charging her on Friday with eight felony counts, including unlawful sexual intercourse and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime. The teacher has now been placed on unpaid leave by the school pending the outcome of the case.
Deputy District Attorney Susan Kang Schroader says a student, who was 15 when the alleged sexual contact began, admitted to investigators that he had sex with the teacher in February and April 2008.

I agree with the other posters. And if I was a high school student who was lucky enough to get down with a nice looking teacher, I would sure as hell keep my mouth shut about it. But, maybe this student just had to brag about the encounter. Word gets around quickly. All and all, it was very poor judgment on the teacher's part.

second it had nothing to do with that the kid hasn't said anything at all. Kids were jealous that he was getting ahead in the drumline so they accused.

Oddly enough, i actually met this woman shortly before all this happened. She lived on my street....i asked her out, and was nicely turned down. Now i know why, i was too damn old!!!!!!I recognized something odd about her right away, and for your info, the "kid" involved, was seen helpingher move in, and cut grass every week, plus neigbors heard her howling in the bedrrom several times, and no man coming around.....In my opinion, from what i saw, yes, she did it with him.
Ok, first of all I ask that the web keeper on this site delete Anonymous postfrom June 2, 2009 at 8:27pm. It contains names of underage students. Regardless of how anyone feels about the teacher or the victims, the real names should not be used.
Second, after reading the comments of this person post, are you serious? You can't even spell simple words. What kind of school is this? I am not the spelling police, but words such as "prity" or "misfortion" or "forien" are not even close.
