Brooke Biggs - Teacher Accused Of Seducing Female Student With Thousands Of Explicit Text Messages

Mishawaka, Indiana (The Weekly Vice) -- Brooke Biggs, a 27-year-old physical education teacher at at Grissom Middle School and asst. girl's athletics coach at Penn High School in Mishawaka, Indiana has been arrested on suspicion of seducing a female student.

Biggs was charged on Friday with two counts of felony child seduction after arresting her at her home is Osceola on Thursday.

According to investigators, Biggs admitted to engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a 16 year old female student. Police say Biggs allegedly exchanged thousands of explicit text message with the student that included sexual advances toward her.

Police began it's investigation into the allegations in July after being contacted by the girl's parents who had concerns about the relationship. The teens parents reportedly became frustrated when they took away the girl's cell phone only to learn that the teacher allegedly purchased a new phone for the teen in response. The girl's parents also caught their daughter sneaking out of the house to see Biggs.

Biggs was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail before being released on a $2,000 bond.

Although a sexual assault hasn't been alleged here, we absolutely agree that charges should have been filed in this case.

Imaging being a parent, trying to maintain some sort of relevance in your child's life - however you have a teacher luring your daughter into a relationship with sexual advances - even going to the point of buying her a cell phone after you take one away.

Something tells me that there's more to this story that the girl and the teacher aren't willing to admit to. I do not believe this teen would be consumed on quite this level, unless physical contact had been established at some point.

Obviously prosecutors are limited by what the teen and teacher are willing to admit to, but we're glad they are sticking with the case. It's really too bad that more law enforcement agencies don't pursue a case with this level of insistence.
