Jacksonville, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Marc Clifton Bryant, a Utah fugitive who was convicted after torturing a 16 year old girl with a blowtorch and screwdriver while he raped her, has been captured.
Restaurant managers of a Jacksonville Golden Corral considered Bryant a great employee, even stating "He possibly was going to be a team member of the month this month," according to manager Allen Johnson. What they didn't know was that Bryant was a convicted felon on the run after he brutally raped and tortured a 16-year-old teen.
An employee at the restaurant contacted authorities after viewing an episode of America's Most Wanted which featured the Bryant case last week. Salt Lake City based FBI agent Juan Becerra said Bryant was arrested on Thursday morning at the restaurant.
Bryant was convicted in April on charges of aggravated kidnapping, child abuse, criminal solicitation, rape of a minor and making terroristic threats. Investigators say Bryant handcuffed a 16-year-old girl to a bed, raped her, tortured her with a blowtorch and scarred her with a heated screwdriver.
Bryant was initially in jail awaiting trial, but then fled the state after posting bail. The trial went forward without him, resulting in his conviction as the Washington County Sheriff's office, the FBI and America's Most Wanted worked together for his recapture.
Bryant is being held without bond at the Duval County Jail while awaiting extradition back to Utah.
Bobbie Stickney, the victim in the case, shared her story with America’s Most Wanted which aired Saturday night. She and her mother called the employee who turned Bryant in, a hero. Bobbie, who is now 21 expressed great relief at Bryant’s capture and is now starting nursing school.

Here once again is yet another example of our legal system's refusal to truly take the crime of child rape seriously - by letting a majority of these twisted criminals out of jail on pointlessly low bail amounts and/or electronic monitoring.
The incident here was far more graphic and abusive than we have room for here. Bryant tortured this girl for hours which included almost drowning her in a tub of water, beating her and tying her to the back bumper of his truck; forcing her to run barefoot behind it.
Why did he do all of this? This perverted SOB 'thought' she might be interested in a boy at school. Although she wasn't, he decided to torture an admission out of her anyway.
What part of this whole scenario could possibly tell any judge that it would be a good idea to let this monster out of jail? It really just baffles the imagination

I've a few questions myself...
I'm wondering how come a thorough background check wasn't performed as condition for employment with Golden Corral? Did he use someone's s.s. number? Who did he use as references? I'm under the impression that most--if not all employers-- employ background checks. Of course,I could be wrong.
Anon, Bryant was a cook at the restaurant, which doesn't require a background check - however it DOES require two valid forms of ID and the paperwork that's processed includes tax forms, and I-9 and other forms of verification.
There appears to be quite a strong disconnect between those employment papers and an FBI most wanted list.
I have a theory that the reason behind this is likely political and has been allowed to go obsolete because it blends to closely to the illegal immigration issue.

Am I to understand that this man and this little girl were a couple before he went "ape shit" and did these things to her? Her parents allowed this thinking it was okay for a grown man to be interested in a 16 yr old? He looks to be about 40 in the photo, so even if he was 35 at the time of the crime that is almost a 20 yr age difference. Why wasn't he in jail for having a relationship with her to begin with?... makes me want to vomit.

Here is a short biography of the situation.
Bryant lived with his girlfriend and kids. He became friends with the teen's mother.
He was convicted of drug charges and went to jail for 4 years. When he got out, he was still friends with the teenager's mother and invited her and her kids to come live with him and his girlfriend. They all thought it would save money if two families resided in one house.
The teens mother agreed and moved in with Bryant.
During that time Bryant became infatuated with the teen, and the teen sort of considered Bryant like a father figure because she had no father figure in her life.
Bryant decided to turn the relationship sexual, becoming more and more jealous over the teen.
Bryant then suspected that the teen was interested in a boy at school. Although the teen denied she was interested in any boy, Bryant didn't believe her and tortured her to get her to admit who she was interested in.
After the rape and torture, Bryant admitted to the teens mother what he did, but the mother did not move out because she didn't have any where else to move and very little money. Once she raised enough money, she did move out and then reported the abuse to police.
Bryant was arrested and held in jail for about two years while awaiting trial. He was then let out of jail and given an ankle bracelet, so he could be monitored on house arrest.
Shortly before his trial, Bryant cut the ankle bracelet off and fled. He was a fugitive for approximately 8 months before a Golden Corral restaurant manager saw his profile on AMW and turned him in.

not wanting to say anything bad about Bobbie's family but im a little confused on how the mother could continue to live there after what happened to her daughter. i have childern and let me tell you if someone laied a hand on one of my kids the wrong way id be all over them and they'd be wanting to go to jail just to get away from me! there are shelters out there and on top of that there are are a few people out there that care about others still that might have helped them. i know there wouldnt have been a for sure person helping but she would have been trying, instead of waiting. so did they live with this guy for a month? OMG thats crazy like i said im not trying to make the mom feel bad just dont understand. i guess id rather live on the streets then live with someone that did that to my baby

i hate to say it.. but the mother should have been brought up on neglect and endangering the welfare of a child charges for this. she could have gone to a battered womens shelter. if she had reported it instantly he would have been removed from the house making it safe to retrieve their stuff. and to move on. there are plenty of people out there that would have helped. it just doesnt seem right.
another bad thing is she forced her daughter to live there in the same home... with him around. which forces her to relive the terror. this is just aweful. theres more than one wrong party here.

I think the mother should have been charged with something and the girl put with a real family. I have four children, and even with that many to take care of I have to say that I would stay in a shelter rather than continue the mental anguish of my child by forcing them to live with the animal who did these things.
And he decided to turn it sexual? Does that mean he had sex with her before this jealousy?
And anyway, if the mother had reported it immediately, he would have been arrested and she could have gotten a restraining order keeping him from the house and she wouldn't have had to move.

The mom wanted him, that is why they were there. After Marc forced her to move (rented the u-haul and paid the down payment on a place and moved her out) she created this story.
The mom worked at a center for troubled teens of course if there was any wrong doing she knew were to go and what to do. And how to screw his life.
His attorney told him there was no way to defend him because of public perseption that is why he ran.

this is marcs son this stupid bitch kim stickney was mad cuz my dad left her for her little daughter, she had absolutely no problem with what they had going on until 5 years later, when my dad was having a good life with a family and his own steady job and home, i truly do hope that she rots in hell, and her daughter bobby, fuck both of you
I agree with dillan. Marc was always the guy if you needed someone he was always there. I heard one story but it had NOTHING to do with "torturing bobby." Marc is still a good guy who tried to help her but look what happened!
I've known Marc for 8years. I happen to also be one of the many people who usto hang out with Marc and Bobbie. There Is only one side of this, which obviously is hers. Yet no one has told you that yes her mom was head over hills with Marc but he didn't want her. Yet Bobbie was drinking right as she woke up until she was throwing her guts up and pass out. She was doing drugs and Marc never once made a pass at her until she threw her self onto him. She started the relationship and he isn't the only stupid guy to get into a relationship w/a younger girl. The only reason why she accused him on these things, which he didn't do because of her sister and her mom found out. There is so many things wrong with this....
my mom dated this man and she let's us sleep at his house. we had no idea about this story. that is pretty messed...
