Chandler, Arizona (The Weekly Vice) -- 19-year-olds Kevin Folk and Justine Rabell, who reside in Tempe Arizona, have been arrested after police say they arranged a crooked drug deal and then brought a 1-year-old infant along for the ride.
According to Chandler police, Rabell's infant son was in the back seat of a car as Kevin Folk and Justine Rabell sat in a Safeway parking lot, conducting a drug deal that was being monitored by police.
As detectives listened in, Folk and Rabell agreed to sell 46 ecstasy tablets for $700 - requesting the money in advance with a promise to return with the drugs. Later, the couple allegedly admitted that they planned to rip off the buyer by not returning with the drugs, according to court documents.
According to court documents, Folk told investigators that selling drugs and accepting money from relatives had been their only source of income for the past two months. He also told police he didn't think about the danger he would put the child in by taking him along on a drug deal.
Folk and Rabell were charged with suspicion of child abuse and drug offenses. Folk was ordered held on $9,000 bail while Rabell is ordered held on $9,788 bail.
Rabell has an outstanding charge for shoplifting that is still pending.

This is so sad. Playing Devil's Advocate here-let's say that selling drugs or ripping off wanna-be drug buyers is there only means of income, WHY did the Mom and child need to be along for the ride?

this is disgusting. what a bad mother. who sells drugs around there child? if this couple didn't care so much about taking a 1year old on a drug deal im sure they are still thinking only about them selves while they are sitting in jail. selling drugs and shoplifting, wow those parents are winners! its simple, get a job lowlives. i guess selling drugs and stealing is all a druggie mother and father can do.

My friend knows this couple we see them at raves every weekend, doing and selling drugs. This couple didn’t seem like they had a child at all. My sister and I never thought those two were good people ever since they tried to rip off my older brother. My brother said the girl seemed like she thought she was the best drug dealer, in this case she wasn’t.
I agree with Anonymous, it’s not that hard to get a job and keep your baby safe.
I was hearing about what happened this weekend at a rave, it seemed like everyone knew about what happened. I’m sure we wont be seeing them at raves anymore. I hope it's alot safer now that this couple is in jail.

It's quite clear that your sister is an unemployed burnout who is also a leach on the ass of society.
She's irresponsible with her child and is incapable of washing and combing her hair.

I am deeply afflicted that my own child's mother would bring my son to a drug deal. Justine and myself had our son a year ago. After we seperated I went through numerous trials to attempt to gain custody of my son and Justine never appeared. She just seemed to fall off the face of the earth. Even though everyone had lost contact with her and pinal county CPS didn't keep to their word and drug test her, they still had the nerve to drop my case. This occured simply because Justine popped up out of nowhere and stated that I wasn't the father. They did not even bother to investigate this before they just dropped my case. I love my son with every ounce of who I am and it still devistates me that I cant hold onto him and kiss my little boy goodnight. There isn't a moment that passes that he isn't on my mind. -From a very loving and concerned father...

Have you been able to establish paternity yet?
Once you do that, you have rights - and the court cannot deny you those rights.
This child has been taken into protective custody for the time being, which means they WANT to find placement for this child, preferrably with a family member.
This is your chance to get involved.
Find out if authorities kept this in Chandler, or if the Department of family services in Tempe took over the case. Call them. Find out which division is working this case.
The arrested happened at the Safeway in Chandler, but Mom's address was in Tempe. Find out what office is closest to Tempe and start there.
I would be happy to help with any advice I can... but what I can tell you right now is THIS...
Court services absolutely NEEDS you to step forward, because the foster care system in Arizona is absolutely overloaded with kids. They need as many paternal placements as they can find.
Please let me know this is going. I'm concerned as well.

I don't buy the "sell drugs to survive" story. I looked up career builder for your area and there are tons of jobs being advertised. Are you telling me two healthy people can't get up in the morning and go to work like everyone else does?
Lazy people sell drugs to make lots of money in a short amount of time so they can continue their do nothing lifestyle - not for survival sake.
So,by looking at the seemingly androgynous nature of the people in the photos,can anyone tell which one is Kevin? Both look as if they could use a shower and/or bath.

Hey, Justine. I don't buy it either. I was a single mother of two children after I left my first husband (who was abusive and a cheat)...I never sold drugs. I had to live in a bad neighborhood and work two jobs, but I never decided to sell drugs. You were just lazy and wanted to party. This child should be kept very far from you.

You have to do more than submit your resume online (and I do hope you used a spelling and grammar checking program)...You have to be out there every day putting in applications, dressed in a professional manner. Maybe you consider yourself too good to work in fast food, because you'd be almost guaranteed to get one of those jobs.
Stop using the excuse of being alone with a child. I was alone with 2 children, and when I left my first husband, I had no where to go, no support. I know it is difficult to get work in a bad economy..I had attended Duke University and had a decent resume and still had trouble finding more than a cashier job...So I worked 2 cashier jobs to make ends meet. There is a way to do things without breaking the law. There are shelters and there are communtiy programs that help with locating jobs and housing for people in situations such as yours. You may even have qualified for free housing. They will even give you job training classes and help you put together a good resume.
There is NO excuse. Instead of being defensive, you should realize what you did was just plain wrong. Otherwise, there is no hope for improvement. You should note that my first comment only questioned why you took your baby with you...you cannot defend that action no matter what you say. There is help if you ask for it.
Danny, you should probably show "Justine"'s comments to law enforcement. They prove she thinks she did not wrong and has no plans to change her ways. That child is in very real danger if she gets to keep raising him.
I want to start off by saying that I know Kevin Folk personally, and he is not a bad person. He is also not the father of this child, so people saying he is a horrible father, that's false. EVERYONE makes mistakes in their lives.....No one is perfect. On a different note, I will not justify the mistake that he made. It was a stupid decision, but he is not a bad person. He is actually very sweet, and is making a lot of great decisions to better his life.
I do not know Justine, but haven't heard good things about her. I definitely think it was a horrible and very selfish decision to bring her son along to a drug deal. I also don't believe that she couldn't find a job.....That's something lazy people say.
