Bub Bamford - Police Find Naked Man In Thorny Rosebush After He Flees The Scene Of An Accident

Anderson, California (The Weekly Vice) -- Bub Bamford, a 25 year old Anderson, California man has been arrested on suspicion of DUI, felony hit and run and violating parole after police say the man wrecked his vehicle, fled in the nude and then hid in a thorny rosebush.

Anderson California authorities responded early Saturday morning to the scene of an accident, however when police arrived, they found a bizarre scene. A vehicle had been driven off the roadway, through a chain link fence and into an oak tree, however the vehicle was abandoned, according to an arrest report.

Investigators found a man near the scene with minor injuries that they determined was the vehicle passenger, however the driver was no where to be found. The passenger was transported to Mercy Medical Center while police continued to locate the vehicle's driver.

Police were able to learn the name of the man they believed to be the driver, and went to his home to question him. When investigators arrived at the home however, a naked man fled the home through a backdoor to the property.

Police officers gave chase, pursuing the man over fences and across an irrigation canal until the man decided to try his luck hiding in the thorny brush of a neighborhood rosebush. Police however had no trouble finding the man and took him into custody.

Bub Bamford was charged with suspicion of driving under the influence, felony hit and run and parole violation. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail.

This entire incident seems to be as marinated in stupidity as it gets. The question that always first comes to mind when someone crashes a car and then flees the scene is.... how hard do you think it's going to be to trace that car to it's owner? Secondly, of all the hiding places a man could find, why a rosebush? Isn't a thorny rosebush the last place you want to plant your bare naked hiney?

Unmentioned in this report is the name of the street the crash occurred on. Balls Ferry Road. Yep, the analogies of this story just get stranger and stranger, don't they?
