Little Rock, Arkansas (The Weekly Vice) -- Brittany Bradford, a 19 year old Little Rock woman and her boyfriend Brandon Bellows, 22, have been arrested and charged with battery of a child after police say they couple assaulted a 2-year-old child.
Police first became aware of the alleged battery Wednesday night when two Harvest Food employees noticed a child who appeared to have black eyes and bruises on his body. When a store employee asked the adults with the child what had happened, the adult replied that the child had fallen. The employees, not satisfied with the answer they were given became suspicious and called police.
Authorities were able to locate the boy and the adults he was with at a nearby apartment complex. Investigators say they found the boy with bruising and loop marks on his entire back. They also found bruising on his arms and legs, according to police.
The toddler was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital where doctors say the boy is suffering from severe internal injuries and the possibility of a fractured skull. The child was listed in serious condition.
Little Rock authorities say Brittany Bedford and her Boyfriend Brandon Bellows admitted to spanking the child with an extension cord and a belt.
Both have been charged with 2nd-degree felony domestic battery and were booked into the Pulaski County Jail.

Kudos to those employees who weren't willing to just let a suspicious circumstance involving a child go unnoticed. In so many of the cases we profile concerning abuse of a child, no one seems to notice a damn thing until the kid is brought to the hospital.
As for the couple in this case - perhaps instead of jail they should experience a little of what getting beaten with an extension cord might feel like to a tiny two-year-old toddler. We'd suggest throwing them in a spinning dryer along with a few hundred thumbtacks for starters.
Either way, we wouldn't be surprised if this child was returned to the parents within a year. Social services never seem to wise up to parents like these.

nothing is worse than hurting a child. I notice people like this always can"t pick on people there own age. because there don"t have the courage. as far as Iam concerne they need to be put in jail and throw away the key.mabe in jail someone will let them have the same medice.

Wow... it's not every day that the "guilty party" gets online and surfs through web pages, searching for stories related to their own crimes.... Nobody has convicted you... yet, but I'm sure they will. Beating a child with an extension cord... What the hell kind of parenting is that? Severe internal injuries and a possible fractured skull did not result from spanking him with an extension cord, though... Jail is too good a punishment for child abusing trash...

and one more thing i went to jail trying to help somebody when i was asked about it i made sure they knew she mistreated him and pleaded to not let her have him back bet i dont say that in the paper it also doesnt say that she admitted to spanking him 5 times a day 5! sumthin i didnt even know also the detective who tolo me my mom would if i didnt admit to helping her what would you do ive never hurt anyone in my life and i swear i didnt hurt him

If you saw the abuse why didn't you simply pick up the phone & dial 911?
If you didn't see the abuse happen, but saw the evidence (bruises, black eyes, you know little things like that), again why didn't you just pick up the phone? You could have even done it "anonymous".

It was a tradegy that this child was hurt. this child was probbably being abused long before he made it here to this young mans home. The little rock police are not to be trusted in a case where an issue of black and white exixt. the young man was threatened amd gave a statement. This case is not about this child it is a case of black and white. look at all the white females who have killed or caused injury to their child over the last ten years. Susan Smith stated that a black man carjacked her and took her children who were in their car seats. At the end of her lies she was the one who drove her children into the lake and drowned them. all because she wanted to be with a man who was not ready to be a father. So when all of you sit and think, if he didn't do it then why did he give a statement ( threaten ) and ( lied) to. i want justice for this child to but not if it means that this young man and the child will suffered more injustices.
It does not have anything to do with whether they're black or white... A child was abused and it is up to the Littlerock police to find out who did it. Whether that person be black, white, yellow... it doesn't really matter. And, yes, I agree that there have been white women that have abused their children, but there have been just as many black women to do it, also.
hello .i had the opertunity to hear from the female invouled in this case who is out on bail ,heard her well rehersed story how she didnt have a CLUE in the world anything was wroung.then read the story.all i knew something happend and she had gone to jail .this is not a case of collor this is a case of two grow up takeing out there life problems out on a defenseless child. i know the court is next week and sence i am in another case i would like to no the outcome ,know that justice for this child will be done. the well rehersed story will mean nothing because when the EVEDENCE B4 THE COURT IS HEARD .NO HUMAN WITH A HEART WILL LET THESE TO WALK FREE ON GODS EARTH..Animals care for there young these monsters need never see daylight again.

most storys like this hit the head lines for a day then get forgotten to who won the hometown game this weekend or politics.no one will ever know the true outcome in this case ,they will probly both get smacks on the wrist and be walking free with-in a year. ppl like this go free and the drugie that shop-lifted a sandwicth will do longer then they will

She will get away with it and so will he. That's how this country works. It has nothing to do with color so stop making it about that. You people always want to turn it into color. I am raising a boy who was terribly abused by his mom and her many boyfriends. She nor them were ever punished for what they did to this child. It was called "mental disorder" and forgiven. Now she has 3 more kids by 3 more men and no one is watching to be sure they are safe.
The police have committed perjury and the prosecutions entire case is based on perjury, hearsay evidence from witnesses that live in CA, and a witness who clearly provided false information to the police to make the statement that the young man was threatened to give, fit. The grand father Randall Bradford told Detective nelson that this was a black and white issue and that no gray area existed. The young lady has decided that she would rather commit perjury to receive five years probation, 120 days in the Pulaski County Jail with 94 days jail credit and ordered to attend parenting classes, to avoid prison. Instead the prosecutor's entire case was manufactured and has many holds in it. Information has been received that the prosecutor has a Medical Professional to pinpoint the exact day of the child's beating and injuries to have occurred on August 20, 2008 in the 3 and 1/2 hours the mother was at work. public defender and the prosecutor are friends and has been that way for a long time. I want justice to be fair and concise without color being and issue, but in this case it is clear that the law and civil rights have been violated to make a case against the black co-defendant in this case, just to save her ass. Justice is not being served and lynching in America has taken a different route, now instead of using a rope they are using the legal system to hide unfair legal practices. I trusted no police and i no longer believe that justice is for everyone, whether it be the child or the young man involved, the mother is getting off because she is white and her family has money and the police already set the tone, so now she can get up on the stand and lie through her teeth and come out squeaky clean. To those of you who may one day need the public defenders office and you are black no this, according to the NAACP they are only to show that you have and attorney standing or on record they are not working for you they are state employees.
the girl has been promised probation if dhe agrees to testify against the young man whom yhe promised probation now keep this in mind she plead guilty in municipal court and still was able to change the plea to not guilty i guess having a lawyer makes a big differnce now im askin for help not sayin he shouldnt be punshied but not when she admitted to hurtin the child in the begginning im beggin that everyone write letters anything to insure she never is able to hurt or allow him to get hurt again i have strong belief that if she does gethim back HE WILL DIE
I would bet a million dollars that this child was abused way before he came too Ark.If there is anyway possible that the childs mother history of child abuse could be pulled up from the state in which she came from that history would speak for itself.The young man just got caught up in her WEB.I pray daily for Mr Bellows and the child that was abused.If anything Mr Bellows saved that kid from being killed by his mother.God this is my prayer to you.Please my father in Heaven spare Brandon from any hurt harm or danger that the wicked mother of this child has brought in his life let justice prevail and the truth be told.What the devil means for good GOD will have the last word and step right in just when Brandon needs him more.He needs a Attorney to help him and I know there is a good GOD fearing attorney that is willing too help him.I will pray and pray and pray and I know that prayer will change any and everything in God's name I pray this prayer
well for those of you who thought that they would walk away for this crime i have news for you. The girls family has somehow regained custody of him and i know for a fact that she still has custody. justice in the state of arkansas is black and white. know this she received a slap on the risk and and had and opportunity to regain her life. I doubt she would be ordered to parenting classes if her parental rights has been terminated. instead money talks the child is now in the custody of her older sister. hey Amanda why didnt you let her come back to stay with you before all this happened and all people should wonder what is the purpose of Miranda Rights in the state of arkansas if you are black and should the police talk to you before readings and explaining them to you. The answer to that question is no that is not how they are taught in school.
Brittany was able to destroy brandons life and her sons all because she is a bully a hateful person and she has stated on tag that she dates black guys so i suggest that you fellows out there be careful. Black Widows are dangerous black men and remember she is white and nothing will happen to her as long as she resides in the state of arkansas. justice in arkanas is based on race and not the law. In the police defense. All white Officers are not red necks and prejudice bastards who use the law as if they were above it. I no longer trust the police I am concerned that they can do what they want and the only they you can do is let them.
