Brenda Christine Lee - Woman Arrested For DUI Escapes Her Handcuffs And Flees In Patrol Car

Tulsa, Oklahoma (The Weekly Vice) -- Brenda Christine Lee, 47, has been arrested and charged with DUI - driving under the influence, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, larceny of an automobile, escape from arrest and resisting arrest after escaping from her handcuffs and fleeing in a patrol car.

According to police, Lee had been placed under arrest Friday night after failing a breath-alcohol test. She was handcuffed and seated in the front seat of the patrol car, while the officer proceeded to take a statement from a witness at the scene.

Police say Lee slipped out of her handcuffs and commandeered the patrol car, speeding away from the location. Officer John Zaferes tried to re-enter the patrol car, but was unsuccessful. He then fired two shots at his own patrol car in attempt to stop the fleeing woman.

The witness offered the officer a ride in his vehicle to chase the fleeing woman.

Lee was apprehended by police about two miles down the road, where she was arrested and booked into the Tulsa Jail on a $26,500 bond.
