The World’s WORST Deadbeat Dad Goes To Prison. Pouts As They Cuff Him

Kissimmee, Fla. (The Weekly Vice) -- Where does the 'worst' deadbeat dad live? In Florida of course!

Robert Abraham, 65, the man Central Florida authorities have dubbed the "worst deadbeat dad", is finally going to jail.

According to court records, Abraham has repeatedly refused court orders to pay child support, and now owes at least $697,000 in back child support payments. The mass amount of back child support has accumulated over the past 17 years of non payments.

Abraham tried to defend himself vigorously, explaining in court that going to jail wouldn't allow him to work and earn child support. His attorneys said that Abraham was beginning to pay child support.

The prosecutor batted the defense down, pointing out that paying child support two months before going to court, wasn't quite going to make up for the 17 YEARS that he's missed payments.

During the hearing, Abraham's 20-year-old son took to the stand to testify about his father. He told the court that, during forced visits to his father’s house, he was abused and neglected by Abraham and his new wife.

Abraham claimed he didn't pay the money because he couldn't. But the judge went through years of court ordered payment programs Abraham violated. At the same time he bought expensive houses in his mother's name, got married again and took a honeymoon trip to Switzerland.

The judge sided with the prosecution, stating that 'leniency was not an option.'

Abraham is the first man in Central Florida to face third degree felony charges for non-payment of child support. As a result of his conviction, Robert Abraham was sentenced to 24 months in prison.

Abraham frowned and looked at his ex-wife and kids as deputies handcuffed him. As they lead Abraham from the court, he stared at them shaking his head.

Abraham was also ordered to serve several years of community service and start paying $1,000 a month towards the entire $700,000 he owes.

The Weekly Vice Opinion:

Do you think he'll start paying child support after he gets out of prison? We predict he will never consistently pay child support. In fact, he may spend more years in prison from this point forward, then he does on the outside.

Those $1,000 child support payments will be harder to make on a McDonald's paycheck. No more big houses and new wives for him from now on, huh?
