Nederland, Texas (The Weekly Vice) -- Kerry Smith Foulk, a 47 year old former substitute teacher at Nederland High School in Nederland, Texas has pleaded guilty to felony charges of indecency with a child after molesting a 14-year-old girl in September 2006.
According to Jefferson County prosecutor Pat Knauth, Foulk's sexual contact with the 14 year old girl occurred at Foulk's home and was not an isolated incident. "After this student made an outcry, others came forward," said Knauth.
Knauth went on to say that Foulk had a history of befriending young teen females that she taught, noting that Foulk allowed the girls to stay overnight at her home.
"She would provide alcohol to them, talk about sex with them, try to get them drunk," Knauth said. "It was obvious, at least to me, that she was grooming these other girls but that the other girls stepped out of the situation before something could happen."
Foulk has struck a plea agreement with prosecutors that would sentence her to a 10 year deferred adjudication probation. She would also be required to register as a sex offender and pay counseling cost of the victim.
The plea agreement is subject to approval by state 252nd District Court Judge Layne Walker, who is scheduled to sentence Foulk next month.
