Delafield, WI (The Weekly Vice) -- Craig A. Gullicksen, a 59 year old former music teacher at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, Wisconsin has been convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl.
Gullicksen, who taught at St. John's Academy for approximately 10 years was accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10 year old girl over a 60 day period in 2007.
Police first became aware of the incidents when the victim disclosed the activity to her mother, who then contacted police. When police questioned Gullicksen, he allegedly told them that the girl was being truthful about the events. He also told police that he sexually assaulted the girl 5 to 10 times.
Gullicksen was found guilty of three counts of 4th-degree sexual assault of a child.
Although Gullicksen will not have to register as a sex offender, he was sentenced to 6 months in jail. He has also been sentenced to 3 years of probation and has been ordered to have no contact with the victim.
The Weekly Vice Opinion:
As a side note, the unreported tragedy in this case (in our opinion) is that Gullicksen's wife has lung cancer. As a result of losing his job, Gullicksen's health care insurance will be running out soon, which of course is essential to his wife's cancer treatment. We are not aware of any other provisions she'll have for treatment and since it is a pre-existing condition, she'll fall into a position that no non employment insurance carriers will want to touch.
We aren't comparing tragedies here as they are both horrible situations. But we want to make a point that in cases such as these, there are multiple victims who are effected by this kind of activity. The victim AND the various family members who surround both parties.
We genuinely hope that the little girl will be young enough, that she'll be able to overcome these events with time. We also send our best wishes out to another innocent party, Mr. Gullicksen's wife who is also battling a horrible disease.

Anyone who sexually abuses a 10-year-old child - especially repeatedly - should be categorized as a sex offender, and forced to register as such for the protection of other children.
I certainly hope he was not given a break on sex offender status because his wife is ill. Her illness is really irrelevant to the crime.
at the time of the arrest of Craig Gullicksen i attended St.Johns Northwestern Military Academy as a cadet and was in one of this sicko's classes> when i and all of the other at school learned of what had happend we were shocked!
The sad thing is that this sicko thinks he is in a position to require everyone in his family to forgive him! WTF How about he apoligizes to everyone for embarassing himself and forever disgracing thier name. Talk about a black sheep! He needs to spend the rest of his life raising money for Children's hospital
this story is extremely sickening to me. my (now) husband was convicted of possession of child pornography over two years ago now. he never touched a child and got...get this: 1 year in jail, 10 years probation, and will be on the sex offender registry for 25 years. this guy admitted to the police that he sexually assaulted the girl 5 to 10 times!! where is the justice in all of this?? i'm not trying to minimize any sexual crime committed, but i'm trying to find the reasoning behind the punishments when you look at the two crimes committed!!
