Carolyn Jones - A Stephenson High School Teacher And Student Get Into Brawl - Fight Captured On Cell Phone Camera

Stone Mountain, GA (ThaLunatic Daily) -- Carolyn Jones, a 53 year old substitute teacher and a 10th grade student at Stephenson High School have been charged following a fight that broke out at the end of class on the last day of school.

According to police, the two had been having conflicts all day. The teacher said she overheard the student saying they were going to pull Jones’ wig off. Jones said she took the wig off herself and told the student that she would have to protect herself if the student "messed" with her.

Police are reviewing the video (above) to see if the teacher acted in self defense, but alleges that the incident started when the teacher kicked the student as she was leaving the classroom. The video captured was recorder by another student's cell phone.

The school district is investigating and will decide whether the student will be expelled and whether Jones will keep her job, spokesman Dale Davis said.

"This was an unfortunate and isolated incident that does not depict the standard of learning environment that we expect and maintain at each of our schools," Davis said.

Authorities have charged Jones and the student with disorderly conduct. The school said the tenth-grader may also face further disciplinary action.
