Flagstaff, AZ (Weekly Vice) -- Tawni L. Wimberley, a 29 year old former computer/technology teacher at Flagstaff High School in Arizona previously indicted by a grand jury on charges of sexual conduct with a minor has been charged with two additional counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
Wimberley, who is already facing another charge of sexual misconduct with a student, turned herself in to Flagstaff Justice Court on Friday where she was read two additional charges of sexual misconduct that police have filed against her.
Wimberley was indicted on sexual misconduct charges on March 12 after police conducted a 5 month long investigation into her alleged activities with several students. Police determined that one of Wimberley's partners was a 17 year old student, while the others were of legal age.
According to investigators, all of Wimberleys sexual liaisons occurred off campus except for one incident at the school during the summer of 2007.
The new charges are related to another alleged encounter last fall with a 16-year-old student who no longer attends the school. She was on a requested leave of absence during the alleged incident.
Police first became aware of Wimberley's behavior when rumors began circulating around the school in September of 2007.
Wimberley was not jailed on the two additional counts of sexual misconduct. After hearing the charges, she was released pending her next hearing.
