Charges Have Been Dismissed. Both charges of assault on a female student were dismissed after the victim's through their attorney Michael Mills requested that sub poenas in the case be quashed. One girl's parents testified that neither family wished to talk to police or the press. Both parents allegedly stated that they did not think Beeson assaulted their daughters.

New Bern, NC (The Weekly Vice) -- Phillip Samuel Beeson, a 53 year old social studies teacher and girls basketball coach at New Bern High School in North Carolina has been arrested on two counts of assault on a female.
According to police, Beeson has been accused of inappropriately touching the chests of two teenaged female students.
Police said they were notified by officials at the Craven County School District in February about allegations of inappropriate behavior by Beeson that involved two students at New Bern High School. The alleged incidents are said to have happened in September and October 2007.
This was not the first instance where Beeson has found himself mired in a sex scandal.
Beeson resigned employment at another school, East Forsyth High School, after an incident that occurred in 1998 involving 6 teachers.
Douglas Shields, another teacher at that school, videotaped himself having sex with two female students. Shields then showed the video to others.
Although Beeson was not charged, investigators say he knew about Shields' alleged conduct and failed to report it.
Police arrested Beeson and booked him into the Craven County Jail. He was later released on a $5,000 bond. He has also been suspended with pay from the school pending the outcome of the charges.

Hopefully,Douglass Shields is spending his days behind bars with a bloody nose and mouth on a daily basis. Having said that,I'd like to know how this creep and in my opinion POS, Beeson was hired with such a background? Correct me if I'm wrong,but,I was under the impression that it was incumbent upon school teachers to report abuse or unlawful activity with minors when witnessed. And why wasn't he charged for viewing the tape and not reporting what he saw? It sounds like to me that this school system acts as a front for pedo activity. 6 Teachers viewed the tape,no? I don't think we'll be hearing the last of Beeson. It's obvious this creep has has an inherent proclivity toward child porn/sex, etc. Just my .02
