Aloha, OR (The Weekly Vice) -- Michael Schedin, a 40 year old part time teacher and tutor at Palace of Praise Church in Aloha Oregon has been arrested and charged with sexual assault on a minor.
Police have charged Michael Schedin with third-degree sodomy and third degree sexual abuse on accusations that he sexually molested a minor in the Beaverton High School parking lot.
Police first learned about the incident when the teen told her parents who then contacted the Beaverton Police Department. Authorities say Schedin knew the alleged victim from the church they both attended.
In a brief statement, Schedin admitted culpability in the incident telling reporters "I am not innocent. I've done wrong. I'm sorry for hurting the family. I'm sorry for hurting the church."

Schedin was booked into the Washington County Jail, but was released shortly after posting bail.

To us, this crime ranks one step above that of teachers who abuse their students - because acts like this pervert the trust of a child that goes to a spiritual level.
This kind of heinous crime not only affects the victim mentally and physically. This kind of rape can corrode a persons very center of well being. Their faith.
While the law does not necessarily see a difference from one child sex crime to another, we certainly do. We hope this perverted, disgusting individual gets some serious time.
