Jennifer Shepherd - Florida Teacher Caught At 3:00 AM Hiding Cocaine From Cops - So What Else Is New?

Tampa, Fla. (The Weekly Vice) -- Jennifer Shepherd, a 32 year old learning disabilities teacher at Carrollwood Elementary School was arrested on felony drug possession charges early Friday morning.

Shepherd, who is a 4th Hillsborough School District teacher to find herself in serious legal trouble in the past few weeks, came to the attention of police when an officer found the teacher attempting to conceal drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Police responded a disturbance just after 3 am Friday morning, where 32 year old Jennifer Shepherd had been visiting with a friend. When authorities arrived on the scene, an officer spotted Shepherd sitting on a bar stool with her hands behind her back.

According to police, Shephard was in possession of an unspecified amount of cocaine, half an Adderall pill, a snorting tube and a stick used for cutting or sifting. Investigators tested the paraphernalia, which came back positive for cocaine.

Shepherd, who teaches third, fourth and fifth grade students at Carrollwood Elementary is a long term teacher who was recently employed by the school in January. Previously, Shepherd reportedly taught at King High School until 2007. Before that, she was employed by Land O' Lakes High School until 2003.

Shepherd has been charged with possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was released from the Orient Road Jail after posting $4,500 bail. School officials say Shepherd has been placed on paid leave until further notice.

Well, we were hopeful that we would get through a whole week without another Hillsborough School District teacher scandal of some kind. We were hopeful that this one segment of society would stay clean for just one blasted week.

But to no avail. This story represents yet a 4th case in just a few weeks where a teacher has landed in hot water due to either a sex scandal or a drug bust. It also tops of a list of 6 high profile stories of bazaar behavior to come out of that school district in just the past month alone.

The Hillsborough School District has degraded itself into a pit of pedophiles and cocaine junkies. Seems to us that private schools in that area will be seeing surplus business soon, and rightfully so.
