Daniel W. Kerekes pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child, admitting that he had sex with a 16 year old female student. Sentencing is scheduled for October 17th

South Brunswick, NJ (The Weekly Vice) -- Daniel W. Kerekes, a 37 year old physical education and health teacher at South Brunswick High School in New Jersey has been arrested on charges of having an ongoing sexual relationship with a female student.
Police say they first became aware of Kerekes' alleged activity when they were contacted by the school principal. Police have not yet released information about the victim's age, but they did confirm that she was a student of his at the school.
Kerekes, who is also a Lacrosse coach at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South became sexually involved with a female student last fall, according to police
Daniel Kerekes has been charged with one count of sexual assault, according to the South Brunswick police department. He was arrested Saturday and jailed on a $250,000 bond.

he was my gym teacher this year and last year and they were always walking in the halls.. he went to all of her lacrosse games and he would give girls A's for doing absolutly NOTHING.. and the girl is a junior

Honestly he is not the only gym teacher at that school that flirts with the students. He is the only one to have relations with one but some of the male gym teachers flirt with the girls. I have seen it with my own eyes.
I go to the school and they have been seeing each other since this girl was a freshman. it's crazy!!!! It's also true that he's not the only teacher doing it. It's still just plain creepy and wrong. i really don't feel safe anymore

Wow this is shocking. I feel very bad for him. I am sure if he was given a second chance, which he should, he would not repeat this again. I am also shocked by the exaggerated intensities of his punishments. Wow. Just weeeow.
this is gross and very disturbing. i go to the school and knowin that they both go or work there is a disgrace. im not gonna be empathetic for both of them or any of them because they put themselves in that spot. what goes around comes around. they made that decision to have SEX and knew that it wasn't right. now its backfiring. she knows enough not to sleep with a guy twice her age..even more and he should konw to date ladies his own age. this is pathetic and stupid. they are both at fault here. i just gotta say..they both put themselves in this spot.
All i have to say is that this is the second time this has happened at THIS school. with two seperate gym teachers. AND that girl better be punished also. Seriously that was so stupid.
sigh.. You guys are insane. The girl is a kid and he's a full grown adult. Lumping them both together as "equally wrong" is an uneducated, ill-informed view point.
There are always going to be girls who are infatuated/ interested in older guys...and guys in authority...

But just because a girl has an interest in an adult male doesn't mean he should go ahead molest, raper or sexually assault a girl.
If a teen is willing to drink, that doesn't make it okay. Illegal is illegal regardless of whether or not both parties consented.
He should have been man enough to redirect her interests to something healthy... Instead of indulging himself.

who said anything about assault? it said that they have had a ongoing relationship, mutual. Sexual assault is one thing, long-term relationship is another.
From some of the comments,it seems this school system has a systemic problem in regards to the flakes teaching within this school system. It also appears from the comments,that this relationship was well known amongst the students. I'm sure many among the faculty were aware. Sounds like this school system needs to clean house...And his aunt on the board probably enabled his behavior.

The sentencing of this filth is coming up. I hope he and his family will wear the albatross of shame across their lives forever. I hope he will suffer much hardship for the rest of his days. And,may he spend his last days alone,broken and filled with shame. The scum is guilty.

Any idea as to what his sentence was? If this perv had any honor within himself (not that a pervert is likely to have any at all) he would've spared everyone the resources spent and the shame if he'd just admitted his guilt earlier and committed suicide.
Upon further reflection of viewing his photo. He looks to be the product of a mixture of inbred hillbilly retardation and steroids.
