Moses Rogers Jr. - Police Charge Man With Animal Abuse For Insulting Police Dog

Stuart, Florida (The Weekly Vice) -- Keeping with it's tradition of acting completely childish, Florida police give it another whirl. Stuart police arrested and charged a man with cruelty to animals after the man yelled an obscenity at a police dog, which was being held in the back of a patrol car with the window rolled up.

Police say that Moses Rogers Jr, who faces another charge of disorderly conduct, yelled an obscene statement as he walked past the patrol car. This, they claim, caused the dog's behavior to become overloaded, thus tormenting the dog.

They also say that Rogers became irate when an officer went to talk to him and ask for identification, drawing the attention of bystanders.

Rogers was taken into custody, processed and then released from Martin County Jail on a $750 bond.

The Weekly Vice Opinion:

Sure he became a little irate. While the man may be immature for insulting a dog, it's a far stretch of the imagination to call it animal abuse. Those who read this blog might notice that a lot of the crazy cop stories we report on seem to come out of Florida. We wish the dog much success in the months of therapy that lies ahead. We suggest the patrol officer join the dog in that therapy.
