Waupun, Wis (The Weekly Vice) -- David J. Edwards, a 57 year old registered sex offender was arrested Thursday after he allegedly offered "a great deal" on baby sitting services.
Police first became aware of Edward's activities when a Waupon resident filed a complaint with them. According to reports, Edwards had made repeated requests to babysit. He told the woman that he loved children and that he would babysit 'real cheap'.
Police were impressed with the the witness' sense of suspicion and investigative efforts. "She was a good citizen,’’ said Lt. Jeanne Frost. ‘‘She did some investigative work on her own, and even brought in his picture from the sexual offender Web site.’’
Edwards was added to the sex offender registry after being convicted of a second degree sexual assault on a minor child back in 1995.
