Jacksonville, Fla (The Weekly Vice) -- Benjamin S. Malalang, a 70 year old Doctor of Jacksonville was arrested and charged with exchanging painkiller prescriptions for sex after police received a tip from a patient alerting them to the scheme.
Malalang was arrested after a patient and an undercover officer received illegal prescriptions during a police sting operation. The patient told police that she had been meeting at Malalang's home and office for the past year exchanging sex for Oxycontin and Hydrocodone.
Police are alleging that at least four other women received illegal prescriptions from Malalang according to Assistant Chief John Hartley.
"We'd like to get information from anybody that may have had any kind of agreement with Dr. Malalang in getting prescriptions from him," Hartley said. "It's not hard to get addicted and it's not hard to overdose."
Malalang is charged with trafficking in illegal drugs and knowingly assisting a patient in obtaining a controlled substance through fraud.
